I used to get OSD on the TV with my receiver, but it has gone and I don't know what setting to do to get it back. It is a Pioneer VSX-917V-s/-K. Thanks

No, it says in the manual to push the "receiver" button on the remote, and then the setup button. You should then get a display on the TV. I am fairly sure you have to have the TV on AV3. The display should come up on the TV, it used to, but for some reason it won't appear now. Thanks

I used to get an OSD on my tv for the settings menu for my Pioneer receiver vsx-917V-s/-k when you wanted to change settings for the receiver. It isn't coming up on the TV anymore and I don't know why. No wires have been changed between the TV and receiver. The manual says to push the "receiver" button on the remote and then the "setup" button. Nothing is coming up with an OSD on the TV. It used to, because I have done it before. I think you had to put the TV on AV3. The answers from the other expert I already knew. Thanks

OSD for on your TV for a Pioneer Receiver setup menu. (It doesn’t matter what make your TV is).

Connect the MONITOR OUT video jack on the receiver to a video input on your TV. Use a standard RCA video cable to the composite video jack.

Turn your TV on and put your TV onto AV3. Turn your receiver on, then on your remote control push the receiver button (this is not the on/off button, there is another button with receiver written on it) then push the setup button on your remote control. You should get the OSD menu on your TV for the settings for your receiver.

Did you happen to change to cable connecting the Reciever to the TV to an HDMI?

please note that the OSD will not appear if you have connected using the HDMI output to your TV.
Use component, S-video or composite connections for system setup.

At the bottom of page 35 of user manual it tells you when the OSD will not work. For example the TV should be connected to receiver using component video and not HDMI. Have you checked this. Also should not have headphones connected plus few other things eg. radio or front audio inputs are selected.

Have you got a DVD player connected to this receiver video input. Try playing a DVD on the same component video connection to the TV. If this works then your connection between TV and Receiver should be OK.

I was hoping you would have been kind enough to provide a feedback to confirm if the connection between your TV and player was OK. It is fairer not to rate the consultants suggestions if the problem has not been diagnosed fully and the consultant is still awaiting your input.

Hello,

Do you have a remote control for the receiver?

The on screen display can be enabled back through the receiver's remote. Except the on screen display setting is on the receiver itself.

It would be a bit difficult for me to give you an accurate step by step process to set the OSD on your remote or receiver, because I am not with the remote or receiver presently, but I will give you a clue.

The OSD can basically be set under display settings. Usually, OSD button are found on remote controls. So check the buttons on the receiver if you would find the OSD button or check the display settings under menu of your receiver's remote control.

Best wishes.

    Hello,

I never new that was what you were referring to. I thought you were referring to the timer OSD displaying on your TV.

In that case, check the wire connection between the receiver and the TV. There should be a yellow, white and red space at the back of your reciever, likewise the TV. Then fix the yellow for yellow, white for white and red for red from the TV to the receiver. The yellow part is responsible for display while the red and white is responsible for audio (left & right).

Once you have gotten the connection right, select the TV to AV for it to display. If it does not display, then you have to cross check your connection. Concentrate on the yellow part because it is in charge of display. You can change wire if its bad.

I hope I am in the right part to your question this time.

    Take care.

I would check your speakers OHM input requirements, usually an "overloading" indication is clipping the receivers internal amplification capabilities, also check speaker polarity to confirm exact + - connections

Bose 901 connection to Pioneer VSX-917v Receiver

any pre-out should work. i believe the bose have a rca jack connector for attaching to the receiver. look at the new receiver connection diagram. any output that is rca designed for use by a recording device will send a signal that the 901's can see.
always check the manual on both before connecting for any precautions.
good luck
