Graphire4 tablet not being recognized by laptop

I bought a Gateway laptop just recently with windows 7 already installed in it. I have a Graphire 4 White tablet that I was trying to install using the CD but it says platform not supported. Then I went to the official site and downloaded the windows 7 driver for the tablet but it still won't recognize the tablet itself and when I try to go to the pen tablet properties it says that the system can't find the supported tablet... If anybody knows the solution to this problem it would be greatly appreicated... Thank you!

When I try to install it from the CD, it tells me that the platform is not supported and it won't install anything at all... If I try the downloaded win7 driver from the official site, it does go through the setup process, but when I reboot and try plugging in the device it won't recognize it at all. Actually, even when I just plug the device in, nothing comes up... It works just fine on my desktop computer so I'm wondering if this tablet just doesnt work on laptops...

Oliver,
Follow the link below verbatim and reinstall the Win 7 drivers for your tablet and you will notice that the tablet is working fine with Win 7.
Installing Devices on PCs and Laptops

    Oliver,

there is no difference between the laptop and the PC except for the size. The drivers are the same. Why dont you copy the driver from the PC to the laptop and try it. The idea is that when you download from the site it only asks for the platform and not if it is for the PC or the laptop. So, copy from your PC to laptop and install as per the procedure I gave you in the link.

When i try to install my wacom on my windows 7 inspiron, it says 'platform not supported'. how do i fix this?

You can also visit the following page and choose the tablet model and windows version you have and download drivers

http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php

for devices that are not supported by windows 7, microsoft has given an ingenious solution, its called windows XP mode

Please click on the link below to know more and download XP mode
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
Once installed, then you can connect the wacom graphire and install XP drivers for the same and use it.

Wacom Graphire 4.40 Install question

Make sure you have no old Wacom drivers installed in your applications folder. If you do, then you will need to uninstall each driver via the "remove tablet" utility.

Tablet Driver

Try this:

Start>Run
Type: services.msc
Scroll down to TabletService
Right click>Properties>Log On tab
Is service disabled? If so, enable it and I think that will solve your problem.

I had the same problem you described after I disabled this service.
