Machine on standby and started automatically by itself. Started filling and then would not stop. No lights on control panel. Could not start or stop. Turned off power. Water was coming out onto floor. Few minutes later gushed out door. Still no lights on control panel to operate. It is just out of warranty. It is an Electrolux EWF 1090 purchased 19.11.07.

Just a long shot - it may be the water inlet filter is blocked? normally there is a little mesh filter in the hose that screws onto the back - check that its not full of crap. This happened to me only a few weeks ago hope its as simple as that for you.
Not sure why this has happened in a top loader but if its less than a month old call the shop you purchased from , they should still be liable for repair or replacement .any older call the manufacturer for repair.
Hi just read your posting. Now to help you I need the name of your machine which should be on the control panel. Also is it a front or top loader.Looking forward to your reply.
front loader washers fill accourding to how big the load size is on all front load washers. There should be no water above the center with a full load.If it is spinnig out and draining then it is working properly:)
sorry - no idea - but just mentioning that sometimes pump is blocked by bits of cloth - which is easy to free once you remove pump - this also stops machine continuing normal cycles - i thought mine had problem with the circuitry as it didn't progress automatically but after clearing cloth out of pump it's back to full swing!
Front Loading Washing Machine: Fully automatic. 1. Better washing than toploading as technologically proofed. 2. No extra effort except putting cloths and detergent inside.3. No need to observe
in between while washing.Start and forgot. You can go market and come back. 4. No issue if electricity or water went out during washing. 4. Take more water compare to toploading semi-automatic. 5. You can not open it once it started.
Top Loading Washing Machine: Semi 1. Save water and detergent. 2. Need extra effort to put the cloth from one box to another.
