My sons x box 360 has got one red ring on the bottom right hand corner. I have been told by staff at Harvey Norman that the console is covered by 3 years warrants for this problem, is this correct and where do we have to send it if we live in Townsville Queensland.

E73 error one red ring of death bottom right

There are links that show you how to repair this issue yourself (but they are not very clear and every thing is very fragile inside the XBOX 360) or you can contact me via email at [email protected] and we can discuss the issue further as I recently repaired my XBOX 360 with the same issues and it works better than when was brand new. There are additional measures that must be taken besides the x-clamp replacement which are certain heat syncs that prevent it fron sensing false over heating issues.

Red Circle

Is the whole ring red or just 3/4 of it. If the whole ring around the start button is red, then you A/V Cable(the one that go to the TV) is not plugged in properly.
If only 3/4 of the ring is red, then yes you are covered under warranty through Microsoft. Here is the Microsoft repair center number 1-800-469-9269

Rings of death

We rent out a hundred or so of these consoles.
Three red lights means the cpu has moved away from it's socket.
Very common in the earlier models. (caused by excessive heat)
Microsoft has agreed to fix this problem free of charge even if the warranty has expired.
I read the e-mail Harvey Norman recieved but you should be able to check it out on x-box site or check where you purchased the console.
