If the subtitles are played by the TV then you can stop closed captioning. However, if the captions are part of the movie, then you have to select movie settings at the beginning of the movie or click these using the menu keys to get manual control without a remote.
Remote controls can be had from several vendors on line. Just Google "replacement remote controls" You can find an original remote so you won't have to settle for a universal one. If you have a sound system connected to the TV you can get a Logitech remote that will operate the entire system and it will never be obsolete because you program the remote on their website.
I'm sorry to inform you that the Blu-ray player requires the remote to playback the blu-ray movies. You can playback normal DVD video disc which has auto play option.
In order to go though the Menu items before start playing a Blu-ray DVD. Hence Remote is must..
Thanks for understanding..
Hi,
Required remote control is available HERE for $35
Hope this info will help you order required remote as its necessary to watch movies because remote has all kind of control buttons to playback.
Thanks.
The only operations available on the JSI JS4110 without a remote are play, pause, stop, and eject. Since this DVD player "remembers" position of the movie, a different DVD would have to be inserted and played to start that movie over from the beginning. As for fast-forward, this is only available with the remote.
I can view channels but cannot view a DVD from the TV/DVD Disney Princess Combo. Only see static on the screen with no sound. I wonder if I need to change the input select to view a movie but cannot find a button on the TV or remote control. I have a 6 button remote which I am sure operates the DVD and another remote with 39 buttons I thought would operate the player as well as the TV. However, so far only the player functions from it. The buttons only have small pictures without words which sometimes leaves some question about purpose. This is a second hand unit. I do not have a manual. It did play movies at first. I think the trouble may have started when I programed cable channels. Any help will be greatly appreciated
