S730 samsung ok so hi my camera (samsung s730)wont turn on...like i was downloading pictures onto my computer and then it finished so i forgot to turn it off b4 i took it out and so i unplugged it and now it wont turn on

Here is a tip that may help you with your problem.... I found out that with my cameraI needed to transfer the pictures within the camera to the card and them fromthe card to the computer...
The process for your camera may not be exactly the same, but should be similar.

I couldn't find an actual .pdf download for the manual, and strangely samsung seems to have removed the S730 from their download pages. But I did find an online version that you can scroll through. Its the 98 page manual that covers both the S630/S730 cameras. The link is posted below. Hope this helps!

You might want to consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

I am having to same problem, after bying a new $25 USB cable for it . Still does not recognise the S730 software I even downloaded the samsungcamera.com:english .

The lens mechanism is jamming by the sounds of it.
You may be able to free it with gentle manipulations
I guess there is no repair option.

Hopefully you have already solved this problem, but if not...You need the driver for the camera. It came on the CD that came with your camera. Insert the CD to install the program. Then you should be able to insert the SD card in a card reader plugged in via USB, or plug the camera in with the USB cord, or plug the SD card directly in your computer if it has the slot for it. Any of those actions should trigger Windows to ask you what you want to do. You can copy to your computer or whatever. If you lost the CD (like I did) look on the internet for Samsung S730 drivers. You can download them for free from several sources (even the Samsung site).

Have you tried just plugging it in to your computer? If not try downloading and installing the driver from this site:
