Haier dvd player model PBAT-118 battery pack does not work. where can I get another one?

try contacting R&D battery on the internet. They are good to "repak" your batteries with fresh cells if you can not find the proper new batteries.

from description - socket dried out and need most probably touch of solder, remove the cover and slightly squash outer cover then touch with soldering irron to the base, it will re-establish connection, same on other side of the board with centre. if not or not inclined to open the caboodle, slightly bent centre point to held the plug in the spot (do not broke it!!! be gentle!).

if this was ni-cd battery (very, very old models), you can revive it, if this was lithium - you are due for new one...

My mother has one of these units, it was working fine until recently I took it to play with it, and found the same problem you describe. The unit works with the power supply (what some people call the "cord") attached directly to the unit, it works through the connector on the power pack itself, but the LED on the battery is not on as used to. I opened the battery pack and found it has an electronic board close to the power connectors, that board might be defective now, yours might be have the same problem. I'm an electronics tech, but I can't fix that board with surface-mount compontens.

Solution: Contact Haier to see if you can purchase the battery pack. In my case I could replace the internal charging board, if they sell it separate, which I doubt but never hurts try contact the factory.

the battery pack is charging but not holding charge beacause it was not used for a long time as you said.try to recharge and completely drain the batteries a couple of times and the batteries should start holding better the charge.Another thing you may want to check is if there is power coming out at teh battery pack connectors(you will need a small volt meter)
