There are sets of lines going across the top of the screen.

Yes you reprogrammed your unit to bottom depth.
Go to settings and use the arrow buttons until you get to the top of the unit. The menu will have several different settings you need to change the sonar settings. After you play around with all the different settings you will see what I'm talking about.

It is a calibration problem, let me see if I can find some schematics for your tv.

on the remote look for a button called apex and push it 3 times while looking at the black part od the set.

If the picture is correct in black and white mode and sound is Ok, your TVs chroma section is in trouble. At present sets, this section consists of an Ic. That Ic may be not working. There are many reason for which chroma section cannot work. Consult an experienced technican to rectify the trouble. There is an oscillator section inside the chroma Ic which receives its oscillations from an ouside crystal oscillator, usually oscillates at a frequency of 4.43361879Mhs or 8.86Mhz or may differ its frequency according to the circuit designs of that tv. Your technician will detect it and rpace the same if needs. You yourself cannot detect the exact point of fault. It need digital multimeter which can count frequency also.

Set the screen format using your TV's menu. Do not set the format of the screen using your provider's receiver. I had this prob with a few channels with a dish provider when I set the format with the remote from the dish provider. I picked up the TV's remote, went into the menu, set the format, problem fixed.

Adjust your convergence. Under menu I think its the last choice at the bottom of settings or picture menu

Hi I had the same problem. Broken white lines across the top of the screen. This is called overscan. You need to go into the Setup menu, other settings. 16:9 overscan needs to be on. Hope this helps.It solved our problem.
