My Soleus Dehumidifer is not dehumidifying

It has worked great for about a year and a half. During this time , it blows warm air and fills up once a day (40 pints).
Now it blows cold air and doesn't fill up with water.
Is the condensor gone and if so, is it worth fixing?

It just blows air. I've had it for years and it worked great until just a few days ago.

If the room temperature is close to 60, the coils may be frozen (completely encased in ice). If this is the case, move it where the water can drain off - about 1 gallon which may NOT run into the drain bucket.
I out mine over the floor drain.
Turn off and it will defrost over night.
Only specially made dehumidifiers work below a room temp of 60 degrees (the temp of a basement in winter).
Does it need to be running? A digital humidity sensor from Radio Shack is cheap and may tell you the humidity is OK - only 50% or less.

If the condensor is gone or coolant leaked, check your warranty, sometimes the coolant system is up to 5 years.

If not under warranty and there is a coolant problem, no, not worth fixing as it will cost $100-$150 and you will still ahve a used unit.

Using as heater and unit is blowing cold air

A heat pump is an air conditioner that reverses its refrigerant flow. In the cooling mode, the evaporator is cold to the room and its condenser is hot. In the heating mode, a valve reverses the refrigerant flow and makes the evaporator warm and the condenser cold.

Hose connected but not draining and bucket filling

I am also an air conditioning tech, with same problem and same soleus dehumidifier problem. you must remove the plug and install the drain line hose adapter. Hose must lay flat and have no "hills" for water to drain. With this done pull your drain pan out and set aside. look under right side facing the dehumidifier and you will see a small spout. Has a lip like a little tea pot. Plug that spout. I used a foam ear plug used in work shops. Now give the front of dehumidifier a slight rise on front wheels about the thickness of a pies of cardboard 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. Now put drain pan back in an start up. The problem is the drain pan was made with very little differance in pitch between the the hose drain and the bucket drain. Remember to check your drain hose periodically and the air filter also. Good luck

Esco Oasis 2700L dehumidifier ices up. Is there a filter to be cleaned and if so, how to I get to it?

Hi,

The most common cause of frost and ice buildup on a dehumidifier is because the unit is operating in temperatures that are too cold. Many dehumidifiers are not equipped to run at temperatures below 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
To fix this problem, Position the dehumidifier in an area where there is at least one foot of clearance around the unit in order to allow for proper air circulation during its operation. Close all windows, doors and other outside openings to make sure your unit isn't attempting to remove moisture from areas outside of the immediate room. Determine the temperature of the room by checking a nearby thermostat or by using a hand-held thermometer.

Check the filter for dirt and buildup. Unplug the unit from the electrical source and check the filter by opening the filter compartment. If the filter is dirty, it will restrict airflow through the unit and lead to freezing. Soleus recommends lightly vacuuming the surface of the filter to remove dirt. The filter also can be washed in warm water if it is extremely dirty. Once clean, place the filter back in its compartment. Allow for the ice to melt and then restart your dehumidifier.

No water in bucket

if you can verify that the compressor motor is actually turning, then the problem is either a freon leak or a worn out compressor. if it is not turning, then the problem is either a damaged motor or motor is not getting voltage--need testing with meter to determine why. cheaper in long run to buy a new unit if bad compressor or motor or freon fill, but a fill may be only temporary if leak persists.
