Toshiba RD-XS34 DVD Player/HDD Recorder Logo
Posted on Jan 29, 2008

WON'T WORK! My dvd/hdd recorder has suddenly stopped working and there is a message on the display reading SATMON. I have tried turning it off for a while but when I plugged it back in the message is still there. None of the commands on the remote work (the remote is ok) and nothing works when I press the buttons on the recorder itself. I cannot do anything. Please can anyone help?

Unfortunately the code wasn't mentioned in the error codes section, I did look there first when I had the problem.

    Thanks anyway.

In the back of your instruction manual there is a section on error codes and what to do in the event of.

Sorry, after i posted this i did some checking i'm not sure whether it's an error code or not as i can not find anything about it. Probably best thing to do now is find out who the repair agent is for that particular brand in your area and contact them. This usually arrives at a solution faster than contacting the manufacturer

DMR-EH75V DVD Recorder

ekimt,

Yes, it would not recognize any type of disc. The disc icon was always present on the display even though no disc was inserted. Also, mine went out while recording from HDD to DVD. Panasonic had mine repaired in two business days and it' s working great.

Doesn't read dvd's

This problem is down to failure of the laser and an only be solved by replacing it. Samsung are aware of this fault but will only offer a free replacement if the unit is still covered by it's warranty.
They do offer a replacement service but charge £94 for it.
