Installing a Sony CDX-GT09 in a 2002 VW Jetta- power, no sound

I am installing a Sony CDX-GT09 in a 2002 VW Jetta w/ monsoon system. I get power, but no sound. Is there an amp issue, if so, what color is the amp wire?

if you have a separate amp in the car then you need a remote feed to it to start it or to bypass direct to the speakers, the feed from your new head unit is blue but as for the car you need a wiring diagram for the model car & amp set up

Definatley amp issue there should be a green wire with a red stripe in your harness, if you take the blue wire with a white stripe from the sony deck and hook it up you should have sound. good luck

EPS is the electric power steering assist. That is different from the EPC light that is the traction control. Could be that the brake shop did not reset the system properly or they messed up a sensor.

We recently replaced a glowplug on our 2003 VW Jetta tdi. We had to disconnect the power source. Since then, the door alarm wont stop ringing. We can't find the factory reset code. Can you help? Oh, it has...

Removing the battery connection for this procedure will cause diagnostic trouble codes to be stored in the engine control module. Erasing these DTCs and resetting the readiness code will require Volkswagen scan tool VAG1551/1552 or equivalent. The same results will occur when disconnecting engine management components while the key is in the on position. Some driveability problems may be noticed until the system re-adapts to operating conditions. OBD II readiness codes, which may be required for emissions testing, may also be erased. Convenience electronics (alarm systems, interior light control, power locks, mirrors, and windows) may need to be re-set using a VAG 1551/1552 or equivalent sacan tool.

I have come to find out that in the 90's auto makers started installing factory amplifiers in their cars so they could use low wattage stereos in the dash. It's usually a blue wire off the stereo that runs the amp, maybe it couldve become disconnected? I also know that even if you put in an after market stereo, this wire must be hooked up or you'll get no sound from the speakers. hope this helps.
