My monitor is not working sometimes

When I turn on my monitor I hear a ticking sound and the power led is lit green and flickering but the monitor is blank, but after keeping on trying it, it works until I switch it on again. this started after a power failure.
Your help will be greatly appreciated

It sounds like the power failure may have been preceded by a surge that may have pushed some of the circuitry to the brink of failure. Usually it's the Horizontal scan Transistor that works hardest, but could be other things, too. If you're not into fixing the problem yourself, it's time to look for another monitor, as it would probably cost as much to fix it as to get a new one.

    Hope that helps!

17" flatron crt monitor only green led blinking and tick tick sound .No display

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

I have a Graco baby monitor, it started making a noise for the last 2 days, could it be a battery problem (even with power connected)? The monitor is about 1.5 years old.

Annoying! happens to us too frequently, but this works. We ended up buying a new one and returning our broken one after owning for three months From Manual:) 5. Turn on the Nursery Unit using the On/Off switch on the side. The green power light should come on. 6. Within a few seconds, the Parent Unit will lock on to the Nursery Unit and the top four (4) green LEDs will shut off. A second later, you will hear a series of beeps and the connection LED should change from red to green. Your monitor is now ready for use. 7. If the top four (4) LEDs do not shut off, power off the Parent Unit and the Nursery Unit and repeat steps 4 and 5 above. 8. If the connection LED on the Parent Unit does not change from red to green and the unit begins to beep, press the channel "ch" button on the Nursery Unit. Within a few seconds, the Parent Unit should lock in on the Nursery Unit and the connection LED should change from red to green. You may hear an audible beep during this process. 9. If the Parent Unit is still unable to lock in on the Nursery Unit (connection LED will be red and the unit will beep), power down both the Parent Unit and the Nursery Unit. Wait for 10 seconds then hold the volume down button on the Parent Unit while pressing the On/Off switch. When the unit powers up, you will hear a single beep and all of the soundlights will illuminate. Release the volume down switch and within 2 seconds you will hear two beeps and all of the Sound Light LEDs will stay lit and the bottom LED will be red. 10. Repeat steps 5

My Dell 1905FP 19 monitor went black & green power light flickers

It sound like a short circuit. I had this problem with 1907FP model. It had an USB port on the monitor which got damaged and it was shortening to the groung. In your case it might be a bad internal power supply board.

Have a phillips 107s monitor, green led flashes, making a tick tick sound, no display

Make sure the mains plug is firmly inserted. The most likely cause of the problem is a power supply problem which will be uneconomical to repair in the current day. Cheaper to replace with an LCD.

Aoc 5en no display

I alreeady encountered this problem. I fix it temporarily.... I just turn it off, Press all the Function btn and the recall btn, then pres the On btn... wait for 2 sec then release the func, recall btn. Then I already able to use the PC for about o hours without interrupted signal (on/off). I call it temporary fix because whenever you turn off the Monitor, you have to do the same process again..

Try it it can help.. Thnaks.... If you already find solution , maybe you can share it to me too .. Thanks..
