From what I've learned from the manuel, and such, is that the dock is the only way to charge it, and M:trip software is the only software that is equiped to be used with an m:robe...so I would say that you should try to get a new dock, and software. If you can't find any try going to olympus them selves and maybe you can download the software directly from them

Player Problem

There is a program that came with the installation CD called Philips Device Manager - you have to open it and click on the Repair tab. The program is available from Philips website if you have lost the CD.

Please Help

Hello Pookie34,

In general, most MP3 players are charged by connecting them to the USB port on your computer using the supplied programming cable. Make sure you are connecting the cable to a USB port on the computer itself and not a USB hub as most USB hubs do not have enough output power to charge your device.

Your MP3 player can also probably be charged by connecting it to an appropriate AC wall charger or automobile power cable. However, for most manufacturers these are optional accessories not normally included with the player.

Best Regards.

Software needed

Answer The power may be depleted fully or the Connect might be hung during boot. Charge the Connect for at least 20 minutes using the AC charger. If the Connect will not turn on after 20 minutes charging with the AC charger, you can then try using the Connect Recovery Tool.

The recovery tool will reformat and reload the latest firmware to the Connect. The tool and instructions are located here.

Note: Ensure the Connect is turned off by holding the power button 8-10 seconds before initiating the recovery sequence.

Help

Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.

2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.

3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.
It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All)
Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware
Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.

Olympus mr-100 mp3 player

This is a photo of the inside of the M-robe. I tried the suggestions you gave with no improvement. I did notice that the other end of the hdd lead where it connects to the mother board was not straight in the board socket

When you remove this lead from the motherboard, make sure you don’t bend it or stress it out of shape. before you attempt to put this lead back in, make sure the small plastic lock strip is lifted out of the way. Then press the lead firmly back onto the receptacle. Then lightly press the plastic lock strip back over where the connector is on the board here. If you have completed this connection correctly and no other damage has been done, your M-Robe should start up. Good luck
