Unless your drive is terribly old the small cds should fit just like regular ones you just place them on the drive bay that goes in and out, or if its a laptop (depends on the device) there should be a **** to put it in or a drive that pops out and you then would pop it on the spinner in the middle.

Take a close look at the "tray" of the CD-drive;
it will have a recessed center, where the smaller CD will fit exactly as it should.

There is usually a space right in the center of the slot that comes out when you eject your CD Drive. If it cannot read it, then chances you will need a DVD reader.

Unable To Eject DVD From DVD-ROM Drive With The Eject
The DVD-ROM drive will not open to release the DVD when the button is pushed on the drive. RESOLUTION:
  1. Shut down the program that you are installing or running that uses the DVD-ROM drive.
  2. Wait 10 to 15 seconds, and then open the DVD-ROM drive by pushing the eject button on the DVD-ROM drive.
  3. If the DVD-ROM drive door still does not open, do the following:
    • Insert a paper clip or small pointed object into the small hole near the button on the DVD-ROM door.
Gently push in the paper clip until the DVD-ROM door opens.
    • Remove the CD from the drive.
To prevent the DVD-ROM drive from exhibiting this behavior again, follow these steps:
  1. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.
  3. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Device Manager tab.
  4. On the Device Manager tab, double-click the CD-ROM category.
  5. Double-click Toshiba DVD-ROM.
  6. In the Toshiba DVD-ROM Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.
  7. On the Settings tab, clear the Auto insertion notification check box, and then click OK.
  8. Click Close.

How do i install the very small cd for my webcam 1H-3W00DB with only a large CD-ROM drive? is there free software anywhere on line i can inall instead? thank you. teri r.

Open the tray on your CD-ROM device.
Look closely -- this is a circular depression in the center of the tray,
which is _exactly_ designed to hold a mini-size CD-disk.

Or, if your computer is a "slot-loading" device, i.e., there is no slide-out tray, there is just a slot into which you insert the CD, like putting a coin into a parking-meter, then you need an alternate approach:
* find a friend with a CD-ROM device _with_ that tray.
* copy all the files from the CD-disk onto a USB memory-stick.
* move the memory-stick back to your computer.
* install from the files on the memory-stick.

I have a NEC VY16F/RF-R notebook. I want to install windows xp in my laptop but can't do it. Please give me a instruction to install xp in my laptop.

One can no longer purchase a legal copy of Windows XP from any computer-store -- XP can only be purchased as part of buying a complete computer system from an authorized "system-builder", i.e., any small owner/operator computer-store.

Once you have purchased the XP CD-ROM, insert it into the CD-ROM drive in the NEC computer. The CD should "auto-start" and offer to install Windows XP. If not, then reboot the NEC, and choose to boot from the CD-ROM device, rather than your 'C:' drive.

Computer no recognize CD-ROM Drive

If it is a "swappable" device, then first shut-down your computer. Remove the other device that currently is installed in the drive-bay. Insert the CD-ROM drive, and restart your computer, so that it can detect the "new" hardware.
