Then you will have to use a diskette or a CD, download the driver on some other computer, unpack and copy it to the diskette or burn on a CD-R.
Go to this link to download the drivers and for further reading on Windows 98 USB storage issues.

Will not allow me to access my flash drive

Windows XP, Vista , or Windows 7 should be able to automatically detect and install it. Try using it on another computer that has either Windows XP, Vista , or Windows 7 on it. If it doesn't automatically detect and install it on that one then the flashdrive is dead.

If you have an older operating system then go here to download the driver:

Pny 2gb not recognized by windows vista

Try connecting it some other computers.
If it does not work at all, spend $8 to replace it.
If it does work, then it's either the "hardware" on your computer, or the Vista "software" (wrong/missing USB device-drivers).

No drivers came with the 4GB HP usb flash drive v125w I just purchased. I can not find them on HP web site. Need for Win Xp. Help

Windows 98 has no support for newer USB flash-drives.

Windows XP has full support for newer USB flash-drives -- if it cannot find the driver on your 'C:' disk, it will access the Internet to download the drivers from Microsoft's web-site, automatically.

Flash drive write protect. How do I remove the write protect?

small sd cards have a small slider in the care itself. Flash drives may have partitions on the drive itself. One or two of these small partitions may have write protection on them that cannot be removed. If you have too much trouble, put the flash drive in a usb slot, wait for it to be recognized. Open the control panel and open administrative tools. Click on computer management and then in the left lower pane, click disc management. In the right pane, there will be a window that shows and lists all the drives and partitions. Look for your flash drive and you can delete volumes, partition the drive etc.

Hmmm.. I am not sure where to find the drivers, or if the driver is a must. But if you have a driver file, then you can take it to any system and install it there.. Intenet connection is not at all required.
