Try to delete the headset from your bluettoth devices list on the PS3.
Turn off the PS3 and then back on.
Re-Pair your headset and see if you have the same error.

did it ever work for you are you holding the power-sync button long enough on the bt headset's load up light should stay solid or keep blinking till it sync's up start the ps3 bluetooth settings to start looking while you start to connect it hope that helps if not the bt set could be faulty try syncing it to a cell phone
There may be a mute switch.However Mad Catz is not licensed by Sony.The package probably read licensed by Mad Catz which means absolutely nothing.You need Sony brand or one that says licensed by Sony.Off brands almost always cause problems.I used to work on game systems professionally.Good luck and game on!
The instructional booklet that came with your MadCatz item usually explains what you need to do. If it didn't come with a booklet, try charging it, then syncing it with your PS3 using the PS3's bluetooth sync capability.
