The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,PioneerIt looks like my convergance is off. You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Ghosting or a 3D image. A yellow and blue ghosting or shadowing image. Looks much like the top picture in the "picture ghosting image" entry. Is this a convergence problem?

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

Ghosts

How old is ur tv...? Cos the wear & tear is the cause for this ghost appearance. The repair for this is only temporarily. It can not be eliminated completely.

Generally the blue ad yellow colour can be removed by a tool which is available with a tv technician. It is not very expensive to do this. Hoping to hear from you.

Thankyou

Color convergence problem

If you follow the instructions on the other thread, you should be able to resolve the problem. Try the simple stuff first. Resolder the pins of the convergence ICs and see if that alone resolves the problem. Sometimes that is all it takes.

Keep us posted.

Samsung HC-P4752W Ghosting, seeing yellow, bowed lower left

What might be happening is that your convergence is out of adjustment. Before removing the Convergence ICs try to adjust your convergence either from the onscreen adjustment (see your owners manual) or by using a signal generator (if you have one). I am against this "lets start swapping parts out" craze that has become the norm because you never fix the cause of your problem just the symptoms. I would suggest trying to adjust the convergence first. Thank you, Shuttle83,
