Dirty Water in water softner tank

My water softner tank (tank where I put the solar salt) looks dirty. The water appears dark and there is a foamy film at the top.

Solar salt is full of sediment and even stones at times. Al that white scum on top is the reaction between the salt and sediments in solar salt. All that sediment gets drawn into valve during brining and causes many problems. That stuff is cra***. Use either Dura cube or Hardi cube salt and you will not have this problem again. It is available from most water treatment dealers

Why is my Bissell quicksteamer dirty water not going into tank

What worked for me is - put some water into the dirty water tank before you run it. My experience was, if I ran the machine with an empty dirty water tank, it stayed empty and didn't pull in any dirty water. If I put a little water in it beforehand, it helped seal the suction and get the thing started. Hope this helps!

Large dark brown spots appearing after washing

Normally a washer does not cause a staining problem, but If something inside the washer has rusted, it could. I would check your water tank. Drain water from the drain cock at the bottom of the tank, and see how dirty it is. If it is dirty, you need to drain the water until it is almost clear.

What is Salt Bridging in a Culligan Water Softener

Salt bridging can occur in any water softener "salt tank". A salt bridge occurs when a hard crust of salt develops across the salt tank when the salt wicks up moisture. The salt does not fall down in the salt tank in between regenerations and a "bridge" occurs. It may look like the salt tank is full but there will be a hollow area at the bottom of the salt tank and not enough salt to develop the proper brine for regeneration of softener. This generally happens when the salt tank is a least 1/2 full of salt. If the system has a separate salt tank, shaking the tank will break the bridge usually. Gently poking a stick at the bridge can break it up also but can damage the salt grid if you poke the stick too far down in the salt tank. Certain salts, such as pellet salt are highly prone to this problem. Using Dura Cube, Hardi Cube or Solar salt will greatly reduce the chance of bridging. Any time a salt bridge occurs it will take 3 regenerations of the water softener (in 24 hrs), after fixing it, to regain the reserve capacity and totally soft water.

The water softner is now filling up with water also the is water in the the overflow its sits in

The softener is not drawing brine during the regeneration cycle. The eductor assembly may be plugged or you may have a bad seal internally. It will keep filling the salt tank if the float assembly is not working properly also causing the salt tank to overflow.

My water softner have taken 80 20kg bags of salt in one weekend and all the valves are working properly i know that the salt usage doubles in the summer but this is more than double .... any ideas why im...

If the water level in the salt tank is abnormally high (there should only be about 10-12" of water in tank) any salt added will be quickly dissolved and used during regeneration. Also make sure the system is not stuck in regeneration.

My scooba 5810 won't run

Fill the dirty water tank with hot water and giving the tank a good shake then pour the water out. Continue to do this until the water coming out of the dirty side of the tank is clean.
