LG L1932TQ monitor wont turn on

I turned off monitor overnight and at the time I turned it off there was a flash at the power switch and it never worked again. I tried rebooting and checked connections with no changes. Then I switched monitors to see if it was a computer issue and the older monitor worked fine.

This could easily mean your monitor has blown , or been destroyed by maybe a power surge or power trip , if it has a warranty return too shop , and they should replace it
Thanks

Just turned it off one day and it never worked again. There was a small flash at the turn off button and that was the last time it worked

This may be that you zapped the circuit with static electricity and it will never work again. But just in case, check the power cord - it can work itself loose.

Monitor keeps shutting down into power save mode? Its a LG Flatron L1932TQ-BF. Turn it off then back on it comes on for a breif second then shuts down again?

This happens when the capacitors (680uf/25v & 1000uf/16v) on power supply board are blown.

L1932TQ Fails on Desktop, works on Notebook

it simply means that your cpu is not giving back signal to your monitor to process, in fact, it is a cpu problem that is why there is nothing to display in your monitor.

Your cpu froze because of that usb thing. the only way to unfreeze it is to manually reset your hardware in this order.

1. RAM modules. If you can unplug your RAM (memory modules) connected in your motherboard, please do it. Just unplug the modules and then plug it back in. if you have 2 rams, then interchange them when plugging it back. this will force your mobo to refresh its resources.

2. CPU. if you can pull out your cpu chip, then do it. this will refresh your cpu setting in your mobo. (mobo = motherboard)

L1932TQ monitor flashes on, then blacks out

I would try connecting it to another computer or Laptop if you can to see if the problem is the same. You might also try disconnecting it from you computer and turning it on, it should “banner”(show a logo and or a no signal message). If it behaves the same way just a quick flash…. Sounds like its toast.

L1932TQ LCD Monitor won't turn on.

I'm affraid you did about everything you can to find the issue. Trying to isolate the problem is the best way to come close to a solution eventually. But after all the tests you did, it seems that the monitor itself got a problem. I dont suggest you to try to fix it yourself, some electrical parts may need to be electrically discharged before being removed from the monitor. If your monitor is still in waranty, contact LG for support. Otherwise, you could bring it to a local tv/monitor store to see if they can repair it. LG support rep could also give you some advice, maybe they got a certified partner in your area that could take a look at it. P.S. If your computer is on windows XP it should shut down the usual way just by pressing the power button once. The shutdown will be the same as if you go Start->Shutdown->Shutdown the computer.

Monitor shuts off during boot. Let the machine boot full up, hit the power button, the monitor flashes windows for a split second, and goes back to power saving mode

Hey there Celius,

Chances are the 'Refresh Rate' somehow got set too high for the monitor. On flatscreens , the result is a black screen.

If you have an old monitor (crt type) hook that up temporarily and reboot.
  • Right Click the Desktop
  • Click Properties
  • Click Settings
  • Click Advanced
  • Click Monitor
  • Lower the refresh rate or set at optimal
  • Check the box 'Hide refresh rates this monitor can't display'
Shutdown, Switch back monitors and try it now.

Good luck
