Consistent dots down print

Try to print clean page ,
Print a cleaning page During the printing process, paper, toner, and dust particles can accumulate inside the printer and can cause print quality issues such as toner specks or spatter, smears, streaks, lines or repeating marks. Follow these steps to clean the printer's paper path.
  1. Load copier-grade paper (not bond, heavy, or rough paper).
  2. On the printer's control panel, touch the Menu button.
  3. Touch Configure Device .
  4. Touch Print Quality .
  5. Touch Process Cleaning Page .
A Cleaning message appears on the printer control panel display while the cleaning is taking place. The cleaning process takes a few minutes to complete. Do not turn the printer off until the cleaning process has finished. A page will be printed when the task is complete. Discard the page. You might need to repeat the cleaning process to thoroughly clean the printer. Print a few more pages to see if the problem is resolved.

Black line on scans with neat receipts mobile scanner

Multiple lines appeared in every scan right after scanning a document from a credit card company that had those nasty adhesive strips used to attach credit cards.
First, I scanned multiple full pages to see if the problem would clear itself. After about 6 pages, I was able to identify the specific areas where the lines occurred on a document.
Next, I sprayed a tiny bit of glass cleaner (I used Sparkle glass cleaner, but I suspect any brand would work) onto an 8.5x11 sheet of plain paper in the area where the black lines appeared. NOTE: DO NOT SOAK THE PAPER, just get it damp.
Finally, I ran the dampened paper through the scanner. After each run, I would compare the result to the prior scan. As each streak was removed, I used a different piece of paper wetting only to address the remaining streaks.
After only a few runs, the streaks were gone (in my case).

Hope this helps!

I have a Canon iR1024A that is leaving black streaks down side of paper... I have changed the toner.. cleaned out where the toner goes... and changed the drum... nothing changed.. can you help me

If you have changed the drum then probably your fixing film was torn. Check if the black streaks on paper is erasable (not fixed on the paper). Check also for signs of film (gray on one side and brown on the other very thin plastic-like material) falling out from your fixing assembly (if you open the left side cover with caution sign the hot portion area).

Printing unacceptable

Printer needs to be cleaned. Q-tips work well use acohol make sure printer is off and unplugged. Squeeze acohol out of Q-tip and wipe all areas of the bars, capstans(little wheels that pull the paper) Remove all black spots from the wheels. All bars should be cleaned in the same fashion. Let dry.
Do not drip liquid in printer. Make sure the Q-tip is just damp with alcohol.

Leaving black streaks down paper? Ink cartridge

If this started after cartridge was replaced, then it is probably defective.

Take the cartridge out and take a look at the print head. Clean the print head.
Put the cartridge back in
Try and feed paper (not printing anything on it, if you can not get it to just feed paper, print a blank page) and see if it still has lines. If so, you are probably going to have to clean ink from inside the paper feed area. If not, try using it for a while and if it starts again, get a replacement cartridge. You might want to save some of the bad prints to show the clerk and try to get the new cartridge under warranty.

On my Test Pattern 2 the blue/light blue and green/yeallow have steeks in it. The documents that I print have streaks going across the page. I've cleaned everythign I can clean. The printer has 6,251...

SolutionFollow the given steps in the order presented to resolve the issue: Step one: Retry the print jobThe problem may occur only rarely. If you have not seen it in other printouts, try again. Step two: Increase the print quality modeIf reprinting did not help, try increasing the print quality mode.
  1. In the application you are printing from, click File , and then click Print .
  2. Make sure the printer is selected, and then click Properties .
  3. Select the Paper/Quality tab.
  4. In the Print Quality area, choose the next higher quality setting. If the current setting is Draft, choose Normal. If the current setting is Normal, choose Best.
Step three: Print in grayscale (black area streaking only) If the streaks are in a black area of a black and white printout, change to grayscale printing.
NOTE: This step does not apply to color printouts.
  1. In the application you are printing from, click File , and then click Print .
  2. Make sure the printer is selected and click Properties .
  3. Click the Color tab, and select Print Grayscale and High Quality .
Step four: Clean the printheadsIf the print quality is still bad, clean the printheads.
  1. Make sure the printer is loaded with unused white paper.
  2. Open HP Solution Center .
  3. Click Settings , Print Settings , and then select Printer Toolbox .
