Up until yesterday my Tungsten (1 1/2 yrs old) worked fine. I can't put any information on it. The bottom buttons work fine but the sylus can't enter any information on it. I can type the information in on my laptop and then hot sync it but that isn't that convenient at meetings. I've tried hot syncing it, reseting it but don't know what else to do.
You have to hold down the power button while you use a paperclip to push the reset on the back. That's a hard reset and will wipe out all your stuff so backup before doing that!

Have you tried doing a soft reset? To do a soft reset, use the tip of the stylus to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.
Palm one is in trouble because of problems like this. They don't work on it but you can buy parts to try it yourself. I never had the problem myself but similar conditions. I do windows based units now.
As the previous responder said, the Tungsten E2 cannot read cards over 1 GB. However, there is a wonderful solution available at PalmPowerups.com called PowerSDHC. This wonderful little driver will enable the E2 to read cards of any size! At $20.95, it's a bargain. I installed it on my E2 and now I use an 8 GB SDHC chip!
1 press and hold the power button
2 while holding the power button, use the stylus to press the rest button on the back
3 wait for the "palm powered" logo to appear and then release the power button
4 when you see the warning message
either press "UP" on the 5 way navigator to reset
or
press any other button to do a soft reset
Also, if you have a new Tungsten E2 and there is no important data, I would hard reset it and then when you sync it, select the old profile of the previous Palm to see if that works.
The new Palm you have, is it a Tungsten E2 as well?
The profiles don't always carry over between different models.
Already tried this and it reset it but didn't change it's condition.
