Start button doesn't work for all microwave functions--as well as timer--fuse is ok

Check to see if the fuse went. If negative then something is wrong with the electronic pad for the unit.

Pull the cover if necessary to see if the fan is spinning. If it's running 15 seconds, your door switches are probably ok, and the touchpad is working, main fuse ok. All that leaves is the circuit board and the magnetron.
Personally, I prefer microwaves with twist timers, not touch pads. A lot less to go wrong.

I would strongly consider replacing the microwave oven, prices have dropped considerably. The problem you are describing is in the keypad controller board.

Many microwave CHILD LOCK features are activated / disabled by repeatedly pressing one of the function buttons or by holding it down for about 5 seconds.

Try pressing the STOP / CANCEL button 3 or 4 times in a row to see if you can the CHILD LOCK off.

If that doesn't work, also try holding down that button down for 5 seconds.

Try these same two procedures on some of the other buttons as well like the TIMER button, or the START button, or the CLOCK button.

Your best bet however would be to include the brand and model number with your question next time and then we will be able to locate the exact instructions for you.

Please check the start button if its functional. The timer must be counting once you press the start button. Check also the air filter if it has dirt and dusts . Some ovens are equipped with sensors that disabled the unit once the air filter becomes dirty.

MY KIDS WERE USING THE SHARP MICROWAVE R-9H94B FOR A TIMER WITH NO FOOD IN IT. IT NOW DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. IS THERE A FUSE OR A QUICK FIX TO THIS?

If it's dead, it's probably a blown fuse or maybe a blown thermalcouple fuse. a bad magnatron won't make the unit apear dead unless its blowing fuses.
