Optorite DD1203 RW
When I burn a DVD image it gets to like 70% complete then finishes successfully but then gives an error 'didnt create file'.
The Burn is incomplete.
Got image from dvd shrink and burn image using Roxio disc copier
has been working a treat for ages.
Had been using some cheap dvd's in another dvd recorder which worked fine, but use the same media in the optorite dvd burner and it introduces problems.
Tried a known brand of dvd and problem solved. The problem was cheap media.

Burning dvd images using roxio really does wonders. however, when you trying burning it to your physical dvdrom, it fails. this may be due to firmware bugs or needs some fixes. have it updated to the lastest firmware update and regularly clean your vdvroms lens with a cleaning kit.

try to burn at a slower speed, turn off the screen saver and virus scanner? if these try to run while a burn is going it can cause an error, try to defrag the hardrive if needed before the burn, try another brand of media , check for software updates on the burning software

When burning CD/DVD use a lower burning method... as not to rush data to burn and make sure that before burning the let it verify or test the data burned on the CD/DVD... it takes time, but be patient, after all it is your data.
Ya didn't say what Operating System?... Ensure ya have all the correct "Settings" in the Burn software. Sometimes the actual type of DVD media can be an issue... some dvd's just don't "Like" some DVD's I have found... try the best brand ya can afford... if still no go.. try Alcohol 120% & CopyToDVD both use their "Own" "Drivers" and I have had great success.. where others have failed..
