Your device has tiny little parts that are fragile and should be prevented from any shock like the one it had when it hit the floor. Your lens is jammed and needs to be manually opened. Sadly this is a very technical problem and except you are a professional repairman then you need a professional to handle it. I would advice you take it to a professional who would open the device to repair or change any broken parts. Do not try to do this yourself or you may worsen the damage.
Sorry for the inconvenience and I do hope you get it fixed.
Daihatsu Charade EL 2003 rear lens removal. Open the tailgate and remove the two bolts securing the lens assembly. Then get a good hold of the lens and pull out. You need to pull out the whole lens assembly since there are three plastic protruding 'clips' on the side along the lens. Please view attached pictures. Then turn the bayonet bulb holder, replace the slide on type bulb and reassemble everything back in place.
Is the lens switched to manual as well as the mode dial. If the compatable lens is a minolta requiring an M42 adapter make sure that the protruding arm/rod is operating the shutter when depressed and that the adapter when fitted operates the lens when turned from auto to manual. Good luck.
if it is an auto focus lens that works on one eos camera, it should work on almost all of them. the only known exception is that some high end extenders will not fit the eos1dmarkII as it protrudes into the opening too far. but a good rule is that if it fits without any obstruction issues, it should work. try cleaning contacts on the lens and camera body. if that doesn't fix it, talk to Tamron. you can use it manually, but will not be as easy and you would get less predictable results.
my suggestion is to always go with lens from camera maker.
sounds like there is an issue with the tamron lens. not the camera. good luck mark
andy the reason that you can shine a light on your camera and see an image is that your backlight is not working either due to a broken backlight bulb or the backlight inverter board the controller board failed
