Weber genesis silver, won't light

My grill won't light.  I have propane.  I used the electric switch on the grill and when that didn't work I tried a match, nothing. I can smell gas.  I cleaned the grill, especially the gas jets and disconnected the propane tank

The grill can only have one problem by what you are describing look under the unit you will see a black rubber hose going from the regulator to the gas valve (where you turn it on) this valve when turned opens up and allows the gas to flow from the valve to the burrner bar. you will need to see if the gas in going past to the burrner if so shut off the gas remove the burner and clean it out as the ports mybe clogged thus not letting the gas come out properly but back feeding out the back side of the burrner..Let me know what you find

i see you said you cleaned the jets sorry about asking that in my last post but the next step without any gas turned on is remove the burner and then turn on the gas open the valve to high to see if you are getting gas to the burner hose if so you will need to either reclean the burner or replace it if no gas is present then you will need to go back to the gas valve and check it there

    Any luck getting it going??

I have Weber Genisi Silver model 8133 which has been hook up to a natural gas line. We have moved to a new location and can only use a propane tank hook up. Do I need a adaption for conversion to...

Unfortunately, you cannot use your Natural Gas Grill on Propane Gas. In addition, there is no conversion kit for Weber Grills. That's why they make two different gas models. Conversion of a grill becomes a safety issue. As each model Weber grill is tested and approved only for the specific gas type. Attempts to convert it voids that approval.

I'm sorry I didn't have better news. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I need a manual for Weber 2005 Model 841001

Here's a link to the Owner's Manual you're looking for. You didn't say Natural Gas Or Propane. So The link is to the Propane model. As they are were more prevalent in 2005.

I need to convert my weber genesis b to nat. gas. Have the hose. bought a replacement manifold part and installed but doesnt seem to work. STEVE 269-600-8111

Steve, you also need to change the burner(s) orifices to Natural Gas orifices. Natural gas won't work with Propane orifices.

Good luck and Happy Grilling!!

My Weber Genesis Silver only lights on the first burner. The second and third burner are not lighting.

Close the propane tank valve and disconnect the hose/regulator from the tank. Reconnect the propane tank and very slowly open the tank valve. You may have opened the valve too fast causing the built-in excess flow to close to a trickle. If you still have issues, let me know and I'll dig deeper. Douglas

My weber genesis silver starts up, but doesn't get hot enough to cook the food. Seems like not enough flame out of either front or back burners. I tried Outting in a full propane tank, but that didn't...

Try these steps in order.
  1. Turn off the gas at the propane tank
  2. Disconnect the gas line from the tank
  3. Open the grill lid
  4. Turn all control valves to high
  5. Wait for about a minute
  6. Turn all control valves to off
  7. Reconnect the gas line to the tank
  8. SLOWLY turn on the gas at the tank
  9. Light the grill normally
  10. Your grill should now heat normally
