Intermittent beeping My range will suddenly start beeping and giving the F1 error message. I have to throw the circuit breaker some times. The stove top works fine but the oven is problematic. This problem goes away for weeks and then returns again. I have noticed that if i bake something a long time -- and the oven is hot for a long time-- it is more likely to happen. It's a real drag because i can't be sure if my oven will work to have a dinner party.

beeping and oven light is on, after self cleaning

  • karendz May 22, 2008

I waited for the beeping to come back before i installed the part, and with the new part, the beeping has not returned in about 2 months now. I think it did the trick.

    Thanks!

Have the same problem. Had fixed by repairman 4 years ago, now it's back. I think he changed out the panel membrane switch. Could it be a faulty Erc, control module shorting out the panel membrane switch?, or Do the switches just go bad every few years?...Starts beeping and flashing F1 approx 30 minutes after flipping on circuit breaker when I have to use range.

I have had the same problem 8 times since I purchased it. You will be buying that $175 part many times if you keep the oven. Shame on Amana for not providing a replacement oven for me and all the others who have dealt with this problem even thought it was covered under warranty!

  • RSElmer Jan 25, 2009

I have the F1 error message also and am unable to use the oven. I have replaced the membrane already and the problem just came back within the month. I hate this oven, will never buy Amana again!

  • Anonymous Jan 26, 2009

This just started happening to ours as well. I hope this part is easy to install.

Once a year for five years this has happened to my Amana range. It begins to beep and the electronic display flashes between :00 and the digital timie display. Eventually the error display shows up - it is F 1 this time (I think in years past it also gave an F 7) Parts were replaced the first year under manufacturers warranty - then I purchased extended warranty coverage which I have used each year. I have to turn off the breaker to stop the beepinig and am unable to use the range at all unless I want to listen to it beep. There is something fundamentally wrong with this model or this would not happen each year. Part is "listed" at over $500. Will never choose Amana for a range again.

The f1 code means that the touch pad mambrane is bad on your oven. I found a web site where you can order this part. I don't represent this site in any way. Here is the link. Make sure it looks the same as the one you have. Hope this helped

I cant get my stove to stop beeping. f1 error

You need to get the exact model number and make of this stove. Get ready for a bad circuit board to be the culprit, because electronic stoves are pretty much unfixable by mechanical means and the problem usually comes from a bad capacitor, corroded or overheated circuit board.

When you get your model number and make, go to YouTube and just type in your model stove and ask "how to repair a F1 error code on a blah blah stove". There are so many video's there on how to repair things with actual instructions and pictures. It's great.

When turning oven on there is a beeping sound and error code F1

Most of the answers are correct, the EOC (Electronic Oven Control) is either damaged or shorted. I've also seen the F1 code come up on the version 2 and 3 units when the temperature probe was shorted. But most likely your EOC is damaged and needs to be replaced. Since you didn't give us a model number we can't give you any more info. Good luck

Hello,
The F1 error code means a button on the touchpad is stuck, usually pushing clear/off will clear it. Since you have done that and it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced

Maytag Oven MEW5530BAW throws error F1 after cleaning the oven using the clean cycle. I had to manually unlock the door and tried to run oven afterwards but it is still throwing the error

  1. Disconnect power to stove
  2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  5. Turn power back on to stove.
  6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
  7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
  8. If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.
Importatnt. few of the newer Maytag ranges with a F1 fault code and the problem was the oven temp sensor, check carefully the wires to and from the oven temp sensor!!

My kenmore electronic stove is having a beep with code F1 on the

Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacment of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal checksum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Have a magic chef oven, f1 display after self cleaning, stove top works fine, any thoughts

F-1 is a fault code.

Disconnect the power plug or turn range power off at circuit breaker. Wait a couple of minutes, then plug the range in or flip the range circuit breaker to ON.

Oven control beeps & displays any F  code error (for example
F11) - Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Press
CLEAR/OFF to clear the display & stop beeping. Reprogram
oven. If fault recurs, record fault number. Press CLEAR/OFF
contact an authorized service agent.
