I cannot get my vhs tape to eject and i don't want to take it apart.

  • jandb_atkins Dec 29, 2009

I got my tape out very easily. It is almost like the mechanism that loads and unloads the tapes is not functioning. But now I cannot get a tape to load.

Try taking out the power cable from wall and the plug it back in and keep hitting eject if it does not want to then unfortunatly there is noway to get it out unless it was forced out.

If all else fails...you may have to go inside and take a look. I had this happen to me and after I removed the cover I found that a very small piece of plastic had somehow gotten into the moving parts and kept them from operating correctly.

Before opening the lid...remember to first UNPLUG the unit and don't touch any of the electronic parts/pieces unnecessarily. You're just looking at the VHS ejection mechanical parts at this point. If you don't see anything obvious that could be causing the problem, (if you can do this with any level of confidence) then plug the unit in and try ejecting the tape again. Watch for anything hanging up all the moving parts that move to physically eject the tape.

Again if you're at all not comfortable working around something like this with live power....then DON'T DO IT! Take it to have it looked at professionally.

But if you are OK doing this sort of thing, hopefully you'll see some piece of junk has fallen into the tape area and it jamming it up and keeping it from working. The piece of plastic that was blocking my tape deck from ejecting was so small that there was NO WAY I could have seen it looking through the tape door.

Good luck!

Hi, i would suggest that if the above fails try looking at the tape by lifiting the front flap from where the disk is inserted, if you can hear the motor trying to push and when you hear it try to reach your fingers to the tape and lift it up and the tape should pop out...and be careful doing it and as soon the tape starts to come out remember to keep the front flab lifted up and remove your fingers out of the way of the tape of the the motor would understand ur trying to push it back in and take it inside again...and whishing you best of luck and do let me know if this works if it still doesnt, i shall help you with some other option without having to rip it apart...and man i really appericiate your love for ur player mate and i will try my best not to disappoint you..cheers.

Okay try this unplug it leave it for five minutes then plug it back in and try rewind then eject ..i know this sounds silly but if you have a belt slipping this could work..turn the machine upside down and try eject.if none of this works you'll have to take it to an expert..ps don't be tempted to force the deck in anyway as this will damage the vcr and tape .hope you have some luck farr64[colin]

Have unit hooked up, but cannot get the vhs casset tape e to remain in player, keeps ejecting.

Typically a VHS tape has a button on the underside that unlocks when pressed inside the VHS player. The wheels unlock and move the tape in the VHS. If this doesn’t happen, the tape will eject.

How to remove a cassette stocked in a vhs machine?

If the VHS tape is stuck inside, and when you push the eject button, it wont come out. Then you need to unplug the VHS player, take it apart so that you can access the inside. See how the tape is stuck inside and start to take it out the best you can. Once you get it out you may have to throw away the tape if it is messed up badly, if not wind it back up. Put the VHS player back together once you get the tape out. Then try to play another VHS tape and see if it works again. If not, it may be a bad VHS player or it may be the tapes. Hope this helps. I have had to take mine apart to take a tape out, so that's how I know

Vhs tape is stuck and message reads "tape

Unplug the TV/VCR/DVD Combo from the main power for a couple of minutes, the unit may eject the tape at the power ON.
You can also try openening the unit, reset the loading posts and eject the tape by manually turning gears, motors etc..You have to know what you're doing otherwise, you will do more damage or get injured and don't forget HIGH VOLTAGE CAN KILL.

A vhf tape got stuck in the machine. I could see the tape itself was caught on some moving prongs. now i don't know the proper setting for the prongs and cannot get any vhs tapes to play.

Hi, if VHS tape is in you have only one solution..to disassemble DVD/VCR ..Can you do it ? you may try !!t
Here's how to do it..
* 1 Turn off the COMBO. and unplug it.
* 2 Remove the 4x screws off COMBO on the sides and take off the DVD/VCR casing.
* 3 Look for the Tape which messed up with VCR transport mechanism ,try to release tape of the transport with your hand..
* 4 Since EJECT feature works with power only ,while you keep the tape off from transport plug the device to power and turn it on..Don't worry, you will see the eject mechanism starts moving back on forth, keep the tape off it and let it eject..
* 5.When tape is out .If it destroyed badly normally you should not use it however if the recording in is valuable for you you can cut the chewed portion and
splice it back together .(Pls see the video included...How to fix a broken VHS tape.)
* 6 While it is open, place another Tape to see if mechanism works properly. and eject it...
* 7 Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Now player is finally working ..
Hope this helps!..
Take care and please

A VHS tape is stuck in my TV/VHS combo unit.

I'm sorry to say that the solution as stated is not correct. This condition usually occurs because of belts that are slipping. In order to remove the tape, some dis-assembly is required. If you have not done this in the past, I would not suggest that you attempt this repair. This repair should cost about $10 in parts plus labor. It is possible that the IR LED is defective as well which can also cause this. This is a common failure and should be a simple repair for any shop.

VCR tape won't eject

you should take the bottom off and you will see a gear with a belt around it try to turn it the same direction as when it is turned off, do not force it but it may need a little force to move the wheel.
