I'm not sure what you mean by the "lines". If you mean the image looks like "double" (or triple!) vision, then you need to adjust the red/green/blue convergence. This is especially noticeable with white images on dark background (like text of credits). If this is it, check you manual or explore your menu via the remote. Sometimes convergence can be a problem if the tv was moved or experienced large changes in temperature... or sometimes all by itself!
Hi, There should be a convergence adjustment on this set. It will have a "cross hair" type pattern You adjust the beams so that the cross hairs turn white. I believe Green is not adjustable intentionally. The procedure is to adjust the vertical Red line until it alligns with the Green line. Then adjust the vertical Blue line until it lines up with the Red and Green. The line should turn White. Repeat the procedure for the horizontal lines. When you return to regular viewing mode the double images should be greatly reduced or eliminated.. Hope I've helped you, Best Regards, Mark
you have lost the convergence IC`s in your set, this really isn`t a diy repair unless you are very proficient in un-soldering and re-soldering components, once replaced there will be an alignment procedure as well that will require the service manual also, if you have more questions feel free to ask away, video-tek
Youre convergence Ics need to be replaced. post the model number of your set and I will post the STK number that you need and a link where you can get new replacement ICs
Your tv is crt-based and is out of convergence. In other words,
the settings for keeping the Red, Green and Blue images aligned have
drifted and must be reset. This is common with CRT projectors and
CRT rear projection tvs.
Refer to your owners manual for instructions on re-aligning it.
The Samsung has bad convergence IC's most likly. This should be repair ONLY by a trained technician as a TV set is not a place to experiment or tinker with because of the extremly high voltage inside. This repair should cost you in the range of 250 to 400 bucks . Good Luck
