Dma 2100 wont connect to computer or router

Dma 2100 wont connect to computer or wireless network.

I have a Vista 32 bit OS on my laptop and a linksys wag160n modem router.

When I try to set up the connection it doesn't list any wireless networks and can't find the wired laptop.

I have checked the vista firewall and media extenders are unblocked. I have even briefly stopped the firewall but it still wont connect.

My guess is that the DMA 2100 has a faulty networking card?

Very frustrating.

No issues like that.
Network should show up no matter what the OS is, if the wireless card is working fine.
If u r not able to connect after that, check the security settings in the computer.

Check the IP address on the Vista wireless network connection. Make sure that there is not static IP address on the wireless connection. That could be one of the reason.

Internet Connection Problem on One Computer

By any chance, are you trying to use something other than Windows to manage the wireless adapter? If you are, remove it.

Now, Click on Start, right click on Network highlight properties, and click on manage network connections on the Tasks menu.
Your two options will be the icons for your LAN and Wireless Network. Is it enabled and without red or yellow marks? It could be disable, it could be not connected and you can't view wireless networks because the switch is off, or it may just nut see your unsecure network (unlikely).

If the above is clear, right click on the wireless and highlight Properties and left click so it brings up the Networking tab. Highlight IPv4 and click on Properties. Make sure the Obtain dots are ticked. That should work, since you are running unsecured.
If it already is, check the red X or if it isn't click OK and close down the box.

Now, back to where your Wireless card is showing, right click it and you have Disable, Connect/Disconnect, Status, Diagnose etc.

If you're still Disconnected but not Disabled, click on Connect/Disconnect. Does it show your wireless network?

By this time, it should. If it doesn't post back. The other possibility is that you take your computer to a wireless internet cafe, McDonalds, Panera Bread, or motel with WiFi and test it there.

My local area network will not recognize my new laptop

You will find that the laptop has it;s firewall turned on. Temporarily disable it (assuming that your router firewall is enabled) and it will work.

Downloaded WUSB54GSC and cannot connect to the internet

Please try this:

Connect your PC with a cable to the router. See if you can access the router configuration with Internet Explorer (or firefox...). To do this, you have to know the IP address of the router: it is in the documentation and is by default. You can find the info on the website of Linksys. On mine, the router IP address is 192.168.0.1. I type the IP address in the address bar in Internet Explorer (http://192.168.0.1) and I reach the router login. It may look hard to do, but if you do it once, you will understand the process and be able to troubleshoot your connection in the future.

I think that your IP address is now used by another computer. Once you reach the router configuration, you will be able to reserve your IP address, so no more problem to get to Internet. See the manual for the router login and password.

Landline computer internet works but laptops can't log on through the linksys wireless router.

make sure that your wireless is associated to your router you can check that by going to:

in vista:
click the start > connect to a network > then there is a selection window to connect to your wireless network.

in xp:

click the start > settings > network connection >right click the wireless icon then choose view available wireless networks, choose and connect to your wireless network name.
