Question about Panasonic SC-HT520 System

1 Answer

Panasonis sa-ht 880

I think i may have blown the amp on the surround sound as I have problems recieving sound from the centre speaker. I have tried a replacement speaker but problem persists. Can anyone give a repair solution that would be financially viable? R there any repairable parts that can be purchased and fitted or would I need to give it to an expert to fix?

Sounds as if you have blown the amp all you need to do is by a amp which would be cheaper than a new system

Sounds like you have three blown power amps on unit. Sure it can be repaired if you are willing to pay the price. Probably cheaper to get new unit since most electronics nowadays are replaceable and not repairable.

The problem is caused by the PULSUS PS9829B digital audio processor. We ordered it in from a Samsung authorized service centre.
Problem is now solved. Unit works perfectly. If you have never tried working with surface-mount ICs I would skip it if I were you. This IC has over 100 pins on it. However the part is available from Samsung. Print this comment and take it to your locat service centre along with your receiver. They should be able to repair the board unless they are wussies and cannot do surface-mount work.

NO LEFT, RIGHT, AND CENTER SURROUND

hi there
have u tried connecting the centre speaker to another amplifier to see if the speaker actually works....

if it does then it cud be the output transistors blown or the actual OP-Amp for that channel

Reciever only allows 2 channels(speakers) at a time.

If the amplifier is not receiving a surround sound signal, you will get nothing from the rear speakers and probably nothing from the front centre. Play a dvd in dolby surround and it will work.

Surround sound not working properly

this isnt a solution to your problem but i have a suggestion. I see this problem has been posted a couple days now and i think that because your problem looks like it involves more stereo equipment rather than the xbox 360 console. i think you would get a better answer actually a soltuion if you posted this in the stereo section.

I hooked two Receivers up in series a Technics SA-DX930 and a different kind I'm not sure wut kind. They worked great for a while, but when they got turned up a little louder they both quit puting out...

you blew your power amp board, you cannot hook them in series due to impediance matching and improper input levels, cheaper to replace reciever than the board
