VW bora 2002 Central locking The remote only opens the drivers door no mater how many times i press it. I can open all the doors + boot with the switch inside the drivers door any ideas?
Try disconnecting the cars battery for a few minutes.Remember to have your radio code handy as it will go into safe mode. This should reset your convienience control unit[central locking] and it should operate as normal..good luck

probably the door switch which senses if the drivers door is actually closed if the micro door switch is damaged then it is not seeing that the door is closed, check that out if not that you will need a vag scanner or something similar to get into the central locking module, let me know how you do peace
stick key in driver door lock and unlock it. If that works, now see if the remote will unlock the door or doors..i remember reading in an owners manual once where you can program which doors open and close by they way you press and hold down the two main buttons, also after a battery change in the remote, i think, but not sure, i did this on a blazar i once owned... the owners manual said, that you had to be within 20 feet and press and hold down both buttons till it makes the arming sound.... Can i get some feedback cause im curious..thanks.
this could be due to the fact that the boot locking mechanisim may not be responding to the central locking servo it could be a fuse or relay or maybe even to do with the wireing hope it helps but i suggest that you take it to a garage because it can be a number of things and volkswagen should know if there is a common fault with this get in contact with them
I would check the electrical wiring connector that connects to the B Pillar (the structure between the front and back doors looking for a pinched wire. If you move the rummer boot around a bit I think you can get a pretty good look at the wires and you will be looking for one that might be dangling loose. If this sort of thing isn't really up your alley a trip to the dealer may be in order.
i had the same problem and i fixed it yesterday. you will have to strip the door down and remove the central locking unit. expect about a 3-4 hour job (at least). check this site out taligentx.com: Passat - Door Lock Mechanism Repair. its **** hot. mine had rotted inside, i tried to resolder it but it was to corroded i ended up soldering wires to the circuit board and splicing the into the loom on the door.(bit of a botch but it works great) you can get a second hand unit if you cant fix it for about £50/£60 or pay a garage about £300 to do it. believe me it was worth about 4hrs and gettin peed off to save the money. hope this helps. emptyed : )
