I have the same or similar problem. My daughter bluetoothed several ringtones to my phone. Some will apply as a ringtone and some won't. I would like to find a solution. My daughter's phone is just the basic Razor, you would think the Motorazr2 V9 would be better, she can apply all of her bluetoothed and downloaded ringtones. It would be a waste of money to buy ringtones with no guarantee they will apply.

my motorola v9 won't let me download ring tones.

I contacted Rogers and was told that I could only use ring tones that I buy off of their web site.

If anyone knows a way around this problem,it would be greatly appreciated.

If you got your phone from a service provider, then it means your ringtone are locked to only theirs. you would need to download from their selection only.
The only other option is bring it to a local repair shop and have it debranded. not all service centers can do this, if you need it done we do it all the time - the cost is $40 + shipping

Motorola w377

Like most of the W377, this one's very odd. The only way I know how to do this is to switch off all Key tones. Key volume is part of the Ring Style menu, so:

>Settings
>Ring Style
>Ring Detail
>Change
> On the Detail menu use the 4 way selector arrows to cursor down to Key Volume
>Change
>0
>Ok
>Back out

NB The Ring Style settings for ALL ring parameters (Ring Volume, Line 1, Text Msgs, Voicemail, Alarm, and Key Volume) change whenever you select a different Ring Style, so you can set up one ringtone in Loud Ring but get a different one for Soft Ring, a different one for Vibrate and Ring, a different one for Vibrate then Ring, etc.

For the sake of sanity (and to avoid the alarm waking me up with a loud blast of Bach when I wanted a quiet 'Ding') I have set the same ringtones etc in all of the above profiles.

BTW whenever you can't find a menu you need, try pressing the black round button (OPEN MENU) in the middle of the 4 way selector arrows - it opens submenus that can't be accessed any other way.

Hope this helps.

Won't Ring

check the settings in your phone book. this happened to my phone and all of the personal ring tones were set to vibrate. I don't know how this happened. I went into each contact and changed the ring tone to none and I am back in business

try going to settings, audio, then change the "Style". Also check the detail of it to make sure it is set for the volume and ringtone you want.

go to options ring styles... then for example your ring style is loud, then go to loud detail and there select the type of alert for messages. similarly it applies for all the other ring styles.

Turnoff keypad tones??

dear smoothy, there is an option in your voice settings which says 'keypad volume'. You have to set it to minimum or zero. After that you will not hear your keypad beeps, and it will not effect your caller tone because it is altogether different option and has nothing mutual.

If that has helped you please press 'fixya'
