My tv has a blue dots all around the television. Im thinking its the optical block? Maybe time for a new tv?

You are correct in thinking optical block, but here is the good news. For the cost of a service call a tech can come out with a jig and reprogram your optical block and the problem should go away. It may be worth the cost to fix. Unlike throwing away a 900 dollar optical block.

Nbo picture is display only in the pip box

Try hitting your swap button on your remote and see if the large image returns. If not there may be a problem on your processing board with the PIP module.
I've seen this issue before on these modules where the solder joints break loose because of heat.
May need to go into see your local trusted TV service shop. Call and get an estimate.

During a storm, my tv was plugged into an outlet and it was working fine and in a minute, it turned off by itself. Now the tv does not work. There is no sound, no picture. The only thing thats still on is...

It got hit by lightning I believe. I hope you have insurance. It will most likely be in the power supply board. My recommendation is if you have cost replacement insurance is to get a new one. Once a tv get hits by lightning it is hard telling what other damage may be lurking.

Hitachi Rear Projection

Hi! Guy,
I don't think your problem was caused by lightning. It sound like defective convergence ICs. This must be checked and verified by a qualified service tech.

No audio, no video

Can you find out what Led is not on or which comes up and goes out? Most of these sets have convergence problems. Or Power Regulators.
