Pf3 shows red light instead of blue signal when ready to print. and so the cd do not stop to print but just freely passes through to tray.

Reset the printer , turn off, and disconnect the power cord or USB by 1 minutes and reconnect again. and try again.
However if the problem persist, unintall the software and reinstall again , and try again.
Otherwsie you mus contact to the supplier manufacturer via ONLINE chat for to get support.

GOD BLESS YOU

You've got an expensive unit (see below for Press Release), with a built-in CD/DVD reader/writer.
Given that your unit could be six years old, it's possible that the reader/writer has "died".

It seems to be a "stand-alone" unit -- not something that requires either Mac OSx or Windows XP/Vista/7 to operate.

I'm guessing that _ANY_ IDE (not 'SATA') HP-brand reader/writer, provided that it has a "LightScribe" capability, could be purchased, and could be inserted to replace the "dead" reader/writer. For about $100, it's worthwhile to try this "substitution" to revive your unit.

PRINTER WILL NOT FEED THE DISCS TO THE PRINTING STAGE.

I´ve had that same "problem" once.In this case the "problem" was with discs. They were thinner than those that I normally use. You could try with different discs.

Microboards PFII just keeps rolling discs and will not print

Di arleady did the first thing that we advise of customers to do - reload the PF-2 print drivers. Since that did not work you a most likely looking at needing the print engine replaced. This typically costs $600+ depending on how full of ink the inside of your printer is. Hoefully your printer is still under warranty with Microboards. If not, you can call Microboards at 952.556.1639 or check ou this repair company

Cost pre print?

I don't have a pf3, but I have been using 3 of the pf2s over the past year. I use them pretty heavily for large printing projects and they have held up pretty well (with a little maintenance from time to time), so I would hopefully expect the same performance from the pf3...

The cost per print will vary, of course, depending on the coverage and quality of printing (photo mode uses more ink than graphic mode). I have been recording how many discs I can do of certain jobs per full cartridge and have found the cost per print range to vary between 20 - 35 cents.

I'm also not sure if the pf3 uses proprietary color ink cartridges (the black are not) like the pf2s, but I found only one reliable company that can refill them that has helped us lower our ink expenses... http://www.emeraldrecycle.com/

Good luck in making a decision!
