Hi, I have been given a very old Tecra 510cdt/2.1, circa stone age.
I am not techno able, but am guessing the vertical lines suggest graphic/video card problems??. If so, could you please tell me where I can buy a card, roughly at what price, and how to fit it myself???.
This laptop also ignores discs in its cd rom driver, which I also need advice/help with. Any help or advice would be great.
Thank you for your time.

Hi djnick989,
how are you,
Wow that was a fast reply!!, thank you so much.
As I am not in the least techno savvy,I am struggling to follow your advise!, think you may be typing too fast for me!!ha!. I am in England so you may have to shout louder too!!.
I am brave enough to try replacing the parts myself, but you seem to imply I need many?!, and they will be expensive??. I do have a good computer, I just like a challenge and do not like throwing stuff away. The tecra has been upgraded to Win/98, in the past. Have to say, these old laptops are much more substantial than the newer variety, I am tempted to press on. Where do I find the video ram?.
Thanks again djnick989. xliliz4th
