Had the subwoofer tested at an audio shop but they wanted to sell me a woofer. It makes no sound at all. A power issue? there was no problems with the 300 watt Kicker amp.

If the speaker cone moves it should produce some sound if it doesn't move when power is applied then the voice coil is frozen.

not really a power issue unless its a "powered sub" and if that's the case then you should not be running in high level sound using speaker wire (especially off a 300 w amp) but instead a low level signal via RCA cable.

Energy ESW-V10 - blue led always "ON" but woofer won/t turn "On", no matter if switch is in "auto-On" or "ON" .

If the blue LED on your Energy ESW-V10 subwoofer is always on but the woofer won't turn on regardless of the switch position, it's possible that there is an issue with the amplifier or power supply. Try checking the power cord and making sure it's plugged in securely. If that doesn't work, you may need to have the subwoofer professionally repaired or replaced.

I can't get any sound out of my jensen spx-17 subwoofer

Pull the woofer out of the box and make sure it's hooked up on the inside, if so you will want to test the ohms reading off of your subwoofers terminals to make sure it's reading either 2 or 4 ohm which ever it's rated at to eliminate the woofer as the problem. After all of those have been done check your amps out put for power to the woofer and make sure your rca cables are hooked up correctly and have power.

MX6050D Subwoofer Issues

Hello, welcome to Fixya!

Fault is either from the main system or the sub-woofer itself.

You need to test both unit in order to detect which of the two is giving the fault, so that you can concentrate on the faulty unit.

Test the woofer with a AA battery or any other battery. Put your ears close to the woofer and observe if you will hear any sound. If the woofer makes sound, then it means the woofer is working, but if it doesn't make sound, then it means the woofer is defective. Or you can disconnect one of the working speakers and connect the woofer to that part. If there is no sound, then obviously, the woofer is defective.

If the woofer seem to be working, then the unit needs to be tested also.

Connect one of the working speakers to the sub-woofer's section of the main unit. If the speaker doesn't bring out sound, check the system's menu settings, check the volume and make sure the sub-woofer volume is raised to the highest level and not on mute. ( Note that most Theater systems has separate volumes for each speakers). If the volume is raised to the highest level and there is still not sound from the woofer part, then it means the woofer channel has burnt. It could be a fuse or a defective channel. At this point, I think you need help from a repairman.

I hope the above is clear.

Regards.

No I cant get my sub woffer to work woofer. There is power to the unit .I am trying to connest it to a sound bar which has a sub out.

If there is power to the woofer then a signal input must power the woofer to work. So feed a test signal or a audio siignal from a DVD and if there is no output then the AMPLIFIER section had faults.
Unless the sealed unit is opened it cannot be tested to confirm if the output , the input to the AMP or the power supply has failed.
Check if there is power to the output section to confirm.

Power sub woofer is not working on my pioneer vsx-81txv everything is working all the speakers except the power sub connection at the back all i can hear is the hissing sound when i try to connect the sub...

Hissing? How loud? A sub isn't even capable of making high frequency sounds at normal volumes.

The Pioneer manual would tell you how to enable and test the subwoofer output.

I have an onkyo reciver and 7.1 speaker system. The powered sub-woofer keeps timing out and when I run the automatic speaker test on the reciever, it does not see the sub-woofer. I checked the reciver...

I assume you mean the subwoofer remains silent during the test. Perhaps the subwoofer is where we should be looking.

If you jack it into one or both of the Tape Out connectors and play some music with substantial low bass, does it make any sound? This would at least prove it is alive.

If this woofer is a dual voice coil woofer and if you are running your amp bridged or in mono would suggest try wiring your woofer in series. But before Idid anything I would unhook the woofer from the amp and pop it with a battery to make sure your woofer is still connected.

Recheck your wiring and instructions. If your woofer is self powered perhaps the amp is no good. Actually it better have amps since the laptop output will not power those speakers.

1) Check your power outet - make sure you have power.
2) Check the cord going to sub-woofer, check power strip if using one, we want to make sure you have power going to the subwoofer.
3) If so check to see if you have a fuse installed in the subwoofer, replace if needed.
4) Make sure your audio wires are attached to subwoofer, inspect audio wire, if it is old wire then replace.
5) Trace your wire back to your system make sure it is connected to the Subwoofer terminal.
6) Check your menu options on your audio system, make sure the subwoofer is enabled.

No sound

Can you physically move the cone or is it siezed? hook up a wire to its + and - and then do a pop test using a 9volt battery + to + and - to - on the battery if it doesn't make a sound then the woofer is blown, if it does pop then the problem lies within your amp.
