If your navigation device shows only the start-up image or you see a flashing cross (X) after you switch it on, it means that the TomTom application is not installed or cannot be found. You can solve this problem by resetting your tom tom. Ensure that your battery is charged, by plugging it for about 2 hours, then you press and hold the power on/off button for about 15 seconds, it will restart, once it restarts, it means it has been reset. But if it does the same, then you have to back your files on a computer, then you restore your device, by doing so, it will be able to load your maps and work perfectly fine. Hope this information helps.
Make sure you have your Map selected in your settings..... go to Tools.... Settings.... Map.....on bottom of screen press Map Info.
Is there a check mark in City Navigator North American NT..........if not you must have one in there to chose that map or whatever map you are looking for
Press Tools, press Settings, press Maps and press Map Info. The map name should be displayed with a tick beside it to show it's selected. If there's no tick press the map name and the tick shoule appear. This should solve the problem if the map is installed correctly.
Have you got GB Discoverer on the card? The map should appear on the Map Information list in the Setup > Map area. Double check the placement of the map card. Also, in case you have not found it yet, there's wealth of information on the Oregon Wiki here: garminoregon.wikispaces.com

Click on the wrench symbol, then the map icon and then "map info". Make sure your map is checked. If it's not, then your map is off. When its off you wont find anything.
It was the first time I loaded uppdate maps (for free, because new navigator) and then it was blocked with the message:no maps found, when trying to start it...My last try was to put the navigator on his usb support and opening" TomTom HOME" program, connected to "map share" and loaded some tips, removed it "safely" from the usb connection and it showed the right view again...Puhhh. Thanks anyway, your site gived quite som motivation.
