I own final draft for pc. How can I make it work on a mac?

Try System Restore to resolve your problem.

Boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly when powering on). Go to System Restore and choose a date when FD7 worked OK. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date. Follow the process.

An alternative would be to reinstall Final Draft 7.

First, uninstall Final Draft 7 from your Mac. Then re-start your notebook. After it boots up - run a registry cleaner if you have one to remove all bad registry values that may have been let behind by the program. If you don't have a registry cleaner, try to get one. After running the registry cleaner, re-boot your Mac. Then, re-install Final Draft 7.

Two things might have happened. (1) the program became unstable and shut down or (2) you have a problem with certain sectors in your hard drive and lost part of the program.

In either event, re-installing it may cure the problem.

Is this with any size attachment. Try a really small one, just a blank notepad text file or something. Also try and save the message as a draft before sending it. I've found saving it as a draft and then using something else (Notes Traveller or Web Client) to send it has worked for me in the past. Expect this is a slow connection issue.

Have you contacted the manufacturer of Final Draft, and explained that you replaced the hard drive and reloaded the software? If they cannot (or will not) help you, then perhaps there is a work around. Does your old hard drive work? Assuming it does, I suggest you get a product called Norton Ghost, and clone your old hard drive contents onto your new hard drive, then run from the new hard drive. The upside to that is, you will not lose anything from the old drive. The downside is, if you wanted to reformat or start with a fresh OS, you cannot. But, if your old OS was bug free and ran fine, then there shouldn't be any issue there. You might also just try to copy the customer number from the old hard drive and re-enter it on the new hard drive, (again, i am assuming the old hard drive still works). those are 2 things you could look into.

go to start/control panel/ fonts
if you don't see greek font in the list; do a search for greek, that should show your options
if you don't find it, you can search for fonts on the internet and download the font you want free of charge

Does the program allow for "auto back Up?" if so I would look in the folder of the original file and look for one closely named but probably with a different extension, if it exists rename it a different name than the original and with the proper extension. then try it. If not you have probably lost your work due to improper closing of the file when your computer crashed. You could try the manufactures web site and look for a corrupt file recovery tool of some sort. Sorry I could not help more.
