I just put the cartridge in and it won't reset. I can't scan, print, or copy. It keeps flashing the screen: "put in cartridge". I took the cartridge holder out and cleaned it off, but to no...

Your probably experiencing a fairly common problem that's easily fixed. Most ink cartridges are shipped with a small plastic strip (like adhesive tape), taped over the nozzles and metal contacts. These thin strips have a tendency to tear when being removed, leaving a small piece that interferes with printer recognizing the cartridge. Remove the cartridge and examine the bottom very carefully and remove any remaining tape.

Paper jams

Please check the following steps:

1.Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam.
2. Turn off the printer. Remove any paper trays. Look for damaged paper.
3. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge.
4. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it.
7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
8. Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays.
9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
