My Wireless-G Broadband Router was working fine until yesterday when I lost the connection. I have tried everything I know to do to get the connection back. I turned off all the computers; the modem, and the router. I turned everything back on, starting with the modem, then the router and then the computer. I can get on the Internet with the main computer (not wireless); just not with a wireless connection. What happened? How do I fix it? The modem lights are all on and green except for the "link" light which is orange.

Hi,

If you can access the configuration page of the router then check the IP configuration. Check WAN and LAN configurations. IP 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 will able u to access configuration page. Username and password hopefully be admin admin.

Regards;
Hasan

Please check whether your computer's wireless connection enabled or disabled. If you are using windows 7 this information you can find in network sharing center. By accident if WLAN is disabled it can be enabled. Also power cycling the router may do the trick.
More drastic approach is resetting the router which I recommend to reserve as last resort. With information you provided the router seems to be fine and your computer wireless need to be enabled!
good luck!

Hi

If you have an internet connection using the ethernet cable but not on the wireless and there is an orange light blinking.. Try to reset the router by pressing the reset button located on the back or on the location were you can twist the stand for the router. press it for about 10secs and that will return the router on a factory settings. before u reset the router make sure to acces the configuration for the internet settings of your isp provider. if the orange light still there, try to download the latest firmware of your router on linksys site and that should fix the problem

I have a linksys wireless g router that worked fine until yesterday. Now it won't connect to the internet. I have a desktop wired to the router and a laptop used wireless.

Check if you can connect to the internet when hooked directly to the modem. If your connection works fine through the modem, then your router needs to be reconfigured.

WIFI not working with Linksys wireless-g broadband router/Comcast

Unplugging the wireless router and connecting it again should not have altered the wireless connection/configuration. You have connected the cables correctly because the Internet works when you connect a LAN cable to the router.
The Linksys wireless configuration or the wireless card configuration in the computer was changed it to lose the wireless connection. The wireless card configuration needs to be changed to match the wireless router's settings or change the Linksys with new configuration settings and configure the wireless card accordingly.
To secure your router with a login password and wireless security, please follow my instructions - click on this link :-

Wireless Router suddenly stopped working.

Try resetting the Linksys back to the factory defaults and configure it again.
Power up the router and press the pinhole RESET button on the back of the router for 30 sec
Connect a LAN cable to the wireless router and open a browser and enter to router's configuration IP address and configure the wireless settings, remove the LAN cable when configuration is completed.
You need to configure then wireless card in the computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings.

Connected to the router but router cannot connect

Assuming no other changes to your environment first try restarting everything - from the outside in. Start by restarting the cable/dsl modem, then the router, then the computer - allowing each to completely reset before going to the next.

You might also want to contact the provider to check availability in your area - in case there are known outages in your area.

Wireless working but not connect to internet

Shut down everything. Modem Router and pc.

Turn modem on and wait for it to sync with ISP (1-2 mins)
Turn on router and wait for it to sync with modem (1-2) mins
Turn on PC.
It sound like your Router and Modem lost sync with each other. You must wait until devices sync and you must do in in the order listed.

Youe broadband router is working ok with the broadband cable. So it is configured with the broadband cable. Now,to work with the wireless internet, you have to configured the wi-fi router to work internet. You can see the wi-fi connection but unless & untill you will configure wi-fi router it must not work or if before it was working with the wi-fi then you can check the wi-fi router setting because it might change by mistake.Surely it will work after configurating wi-fi router.

When i hook up ther router my internet connection is lost

Did you install the routers software? It should have had step by step instructions to walk you through the procedure of connecting all of your computers, hard wired and wireless, to it. If you've followed the steps, and it still doesn't connect, turn off everything involved, the computer, router and if there is a separate modem. Then, power the broadband modem on first, wait until the lights all stop blinking, then the router, then finally the computer. Most of the time the tech support for your broadband connection will help you connect, up to a certain point, if still unable to connect they will refer you to contact the manufacturer of the router.
