The buzzer won't stop buzzing after the load is complete. ... or turn on the timer and the dryer will start just by selecting a cycle and closing the door. ... The dryer should continue to run and at the end the buzzer should only stay on as long as ...
Push the timer to a definate off position. Close the door. If it buzzes then more than likely you are getting power from the timer which could mean short in the timer. If you have the model # the parts places can easily find your parts.
you have a door switch that is bad, the circut is close so the dryer thinks that the door is still closed. replace your door switch. let me know the model and i will help you through that.
On some Kenmore which is made by whirlpool, there is a resistor connected to the timer control. when the machine is off can you listen to the timer switch and hear it running, making a clock ticking sound? If so, you need a new resistor. Being a dryer, when you open the door and it stops the button needs to be reset before it starts again, right? So I wouldnt be looking at the door switch as much as the start button. It may be the evil one.
Sounds like the push to start switch has gone bad. Not to expensive to fix, and pretty easy to do as well. You can remove the rear of the console, remove the push to start switch (lift the tab, then turn to unlock) and replace. Be sure to mark your wires so they go back in the right order. Jim
