Need audio driver assistance for a901tu notebook

I have Compaq Presario a901tu notebook. I had downgraded vista to xp. there is no audio driver in my device manager. I had tried many driver files. I got this error "DRIVER INSTALLATION FAILED. COULD NOT FIND MEDIA DEVICE FOR THIS DRIVER" could someone help me out this prob.

Please I need experts help. I hope I'll be getting good solution.

    thanks for your great reply. But already I had installed xp sp2 . but the problem is when I installed audio driver it's unable to find the media device(sound device). I have tried many latest drivers. there is no use.I hope you have the solution for this. I am pretty sure it's conexant audio device. because when I had vista I have seen conexant drivers.

I need all the drivers for my compaq a901 laptop, recently i downgraded the os from vista to windows2003, i tried to open up the link u mentioned, but it is not opening up... plz do the needful by sending the link for all drivers to [email protected]

Installl xp first . then using that identify ur audio codec . then go to the companys suoort section website and downlaod the latest drivers

you will be able to install this only after installing "Microsoft UAA High Definition Bus Driver"

Install "Microsoft UAA High Definition Bus Driver" first and install the Audio Driver.

Installing only audio drivers will give you error "DRIVER INSTALLATION FAILED. COULD NOT FIND MEDIA DEVICE FOR THIS DRIVER" .so to solve this problem first you have to download microsoft universal audio driver and then install audio drivers
