SOURCE: lenovo G550 touchpad scroll bar does not work with

I had this same problem. This is how I solved it:
1. Install the touch-pad driver from Lenovo's website, but remember which folder it installed into
2. Go into the device manager, it's located in the control panel, and click on mice and other pointing devices, then on the mouse device
3. In the mouse device window, go to drivers, then update driver, then say locate manually, then find the folder you installed the drivers to
4. Restart and try the scroll wheel

SOURCE: I have HP Compaq 610. Touchpad scroll was working

You will need to install the WIndows 7 drivers for your touchpad from HP. I have recently been on HP's site and find VERY few Win-7 drivers for any of the older machines.

Toshiba Satellite A355-S6935 touchpad problem

That is normal, because the touchpad requires a driver. Windows 7, fortunately, comes with driver installation through the Windows Update.

Simply launch Windows update (Start Menu> type "Windows Update" > hit 'enter'), and select all the updates and hit update. You could also manually do it, by going to Toshiba's website, finding your computer model in the "support" category, and finding the appropriate touch-pad driver. (I believe it would be called "Synaptic Touchpad Driver").

Good luck!

I have installed the windows 7 ultimate edition in my acer aspire 2930. the touchpad scroll doesn't work. what might be the solution.

I had the exact same problem after upgrading to windows 7 32 bit Home Premium on my Acer 3680 series laptop. After researching the problem at both the Acer site and the touchpad manufacturer's site, I discovered that sometimes Windows 7 doesn't support all features of older touchpads and there is no solution for this problem (which I like, anyway).

The drivers for the original touchpad are not always supported by Windows 7, which say, for instance, worked in Vista.

I tried emulation mode, etc., but the scroll buttons didn't work after updating to windows 7.

So, I just gave up and tried to adapt to the new operating system/touchpad function.

Good luck on this one.

I bought a new lenovo laptop G450 but scroll up/down in touchpad doesn't work only the touchpad cursor, right & left click works. What driver do I need to install. Appreciate your immediate assistance...

Hello Friend,

You need to download the Touchpad driver.
Please use the below link to install the tocuhpad driver.
http://laptop-driver-download.blogspot.com/2009/09/download-lenovo-g450-windows-xp-drivers.html

You can select the Touchpad driver and it will download one EXE file.
Just run and restart your machine.

It will resolve your issue.
