White screen of death! on my nokia n770

What is the best fix to the white screen of death! on my nokia n770 can i fix it my self? whats wrong with it?

Have the same white screen problem in my 6 month old E 61i. Nokia sent it back saying it is now out of warranty due to liquid damage. There is no liquid damage! It was never exposed to any liquid / moisture.

I can make and receive calls, but I need to fix the white screen issue.

Never take the battery out while it is still on even if frozen! Instead hold the power button down for 1 min until it reboots. Because the RAM logs the data to the processor. Also don't let your greasy fingers touch the pens on the battery or the inside connectors.
This messes up the pens on the batteries connector. I'd say gently clean the battery and connector pens with a dry clothe,and make sure to reset the device with the power button held for 1 minute. This should erase the image from the RAM. The Nokia 770 stores data in the internal RAM,so any errors are logged and a hard boot has to be done. Also only use software made for the OS not 2007 HE or 2008 HE.
