Greetings jack71471, there are a couple options to obtain a replacement AC adapter for your Durabrand DVD player. One option is to purchase a universal adapter from a store such as Radio Shack. The other option is to buy a dedicated 9 volt AC replacement adapter from a couple sources on eBay. Just do a search for "PDV-709 adapter" and you will find some AC adapters and 12 volt car adapters as well. If you choose the universal replacement option, make sure you bring the player and adapter with you so the salesperson can configure the settings and polarity to match the original adapter. That is unless you are confident enough to set it yourself, in which case you can purchase a universal adapter most anywhere as long as the current rating ( rated in milliamps or "ma") is equal to or greater than the original. I need a new ac adapter and I sent an email to [email protected] which is the customer service for the company that makes the PDV-709 dvd player. They responded within 1 day and gave me the instructions as to how to order one from them and the price ($20) etc. They require a money order sent to the address below.
