Astar's phone and website cant' be found

Tv turn on now have a picture flashes only a few sec. than dies have sound left only.Yes,than the tv dose have dead long LCD inverter backlight board.Should go on the website Shopjimmy.com to buy the refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement.

The picture just won't come on. We've already had it fixed once and now it's happening again. For lack of a better term, my husband says that something has blown inside the tv so we will need to get it to...

im not a pro but in my case the sound was there but the picture was not. i just took off the back of tv ,removed the blacklight protective cover removed the backlight board(long board left side of tv ) reconnected it without the metal cover and tv works as good as new. i got it fixed to at the repair store and one week later it started again i paid $197.40. just when i got ready to buy a new tv i took it apart and saw it was not hard to put it back together. saved alot of money $197 for repair and $1400 on the one i would have bought .

Unerversal Remote Codes

Astar got sued by Philips and went out of business. Astar owned themselves rather then having a reproduction redesign of another set. They were a cheap Chinese company that made stuff for Compusa. I've repaired a couple of their sets and they're easy to work on but a little under built. So chances of matching the remote code up to another tv code will be left to guess and check. On some remotes you can enter a setup where you can press the power button over and over until you find the right one, then press another button such as enter or select to lock it in. See if your manual says anything about code search.

Problems with the Astar TV turning on

OK HERE'S THE DEAL WITH THE ASTAR YOU ALL SPEAK OF THE PERSON FROM SOLUTION 3 IS RIGHT IT'S A POWER SUPPLY ISSUE WE'VE GOT 130 OF THESE I'VE FIXED 40 OUT 44 POWER SUPPLIES. IF ANY OF YOU HAVE SOME SKILLS WITH SOLDERING. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS IN THE CAPACITORS. THERE ARE 3 SETS OF CAPACITORS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. 4 3300uf 35v, 8 2200uf 25v, 7 1000uf 10v. ONCE YOU REPLACE THESE YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO. THE OTHER 4 WE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ARE STILL POWER SUPPLY ISSUES BUT ALITTLE MORE IN DEPTH WILL POST WHEN WE FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM.

I have found that Macwynn is now producing the ASTAR LTV-32ASB model tv under there brand but cant find anything out on them

Hi all, sorry to be the bearer of bad news...
Astar is now defunct. They recently lost a lawsuit and were put out of business by Philips, for design/copyright infringement and forced to file bankruptcy and close up shop for good.

Good Luck, I am just trying to find out where I can get mine fixed, my TV is only 16 months and has the same problem. In my serch, I found that SHENZHEN KDX in China manufactured Astar in conjunction with the USA/Canada.
I have e-mailed them and am hoping to get some answers.
