I download my music, extract the .rar files then take the new folder that has the.mp3s and ... Is there anything i can do to convert the songs to play with the MP3 player? .... well it depends did you download it cause if you did that could also probably be why its saying it wont reconize

Try resetting the device

Lat year for Christmas I bought each of my kids and myself a ZEN MP3 player. All of them were bad. We had to take them back and get a totally different brand. Zens are really bad players. Not many of them work. My suggestion- take it back before it is to late.

On the back of the the mp3 player is a reset switch.
Hold that down about 15 seconds.
If that does not work go to the RCA website.
Download the latest firmware.
Plug mp3 player into pc.
Install the new firmware.
Keep it plug to computer for about 1 hour to charge the battery alittle.

You have got to reset the MP3 player. To do this you have to use a paperclip (or something similar) to press the button next the hold toggle it should have the word RST.

what happens when you USB connect to your PC? Might help to reset it, if its a software glitch.
