I have tried replacing PSU, checked all fuses for continuity and replaced eject/power ribbon and buttons. What is wrong?
PS2 is v4
Have you tried holding down the reset button to turn off your console. Months before I bought my Ps2 I noticed my friends turning off their PS2's using the switch on the back. When i bought mine , months later i was invited to a friends house and noticed when he turned off his ps2 by holding the reset button down for a few seconds. After playing on their trampoline i went home and tried this reset button thing and it worked. Although i had the fat bulky ps2 this trick also works on slimline models too. This should solve your problem. The switch on the back i later found out was for when you wanted to turn off your ps2 during a thunderstorm.
you may need additional service from sony
um you might have a loose connection with the power/reset/eject ribbon cable
On my PS2 the green led light turns on but when I press the reset button it blinks and goes back to green and the eject light won't turn on and when I press the button it does nothing

First thing you do is try reseating the ATX Connector (the 20pin white connector that gives power to the motherboard from power supply) If this does not fix the issue, then disconnect all the components If there is then switch off the pc, add a component & restart to check the green light exists. If there is still orange light then check if the psu fan is moving. Its inexpensive. hope this helps
(strip the system to MPP i.e. motherboard, psu & proc) and then switch on the pc to check if there is a green light.
Do this for the remaining components one by one to check which component is causing the issue.
If it does not move at all, replace psu. If if moves a little bit, connect just the dvd drive & check if it ejects.
If it does then replace motherboard. If you are replacing motherboard or psu, replace the front i/o panel assembly (the power switch assembly) for safety reasons.

thanks for reply, but that is definitely not the problem. there was originally a blown fuse at #PS1 on the motherboard, which i replaced. now when i switch on the system from the back it goes straight to the green light. pressing the reset/eject button does nothing. no fan, no disc spinning.
anyone shed some light on this?
of course, i want to fix this myself, so to rephrase the question: how would sony repair this system?
