Three beeps means the print head is bad. They last 5-10 years. They are available as high-capacity black BC-10, or color, BC-11e. I occasionally sell them on ebay for about $20, user id yacare. If not currently listed, use contact seller to request one.

This is an OLD OLD printer. You really cannot repair broken printers economically. Time to buy a new one. Check out the price of the INK refills before you decide on the next printer.

Sorry-- I was locked out and could not answer you.

If no bidirectional printing in the Control Panel- Hardware- PORTS, LPT1, then check the LEGACY printer box. Reboot the machine, and try to print again. If no luck follow these instructions.

When installing a printer that connects to your computer via the
parallel port, you’ll normally need to install it manually. However,
depending on your computer’s hardware, Windows may also notice when you
connect a parallel printer and start the installation automatically; To install
a printer by running the Add Printer Wizard manually, take the
    following steps:

    1. In the Printers window, click the Add a Printer button on the toolbar. Windows starts the
Add Printer Wizard, which displays the Choose a Local or Network Printer screen.

    2. Click the Add a Local Printer button. The wizard displays the Choose a Printer Port screen
    .

3.Make sure the Use an Existing Port option button is selected, and then select the port in the
    drop-down list.

    • The default setting is LPT1, which is typically the port for the parallel port on your computer.
If your computer has multiple parallel ports, you may need to use LTP2 or LPT3 instead.

    • The COM ports COM1, COM2, and so on are serial ports. Very few
printers connect to serial ports, because they are very slow.

    • The FILE port is for printing to a file. See the section “Printing to a File,” later in this article.

    • The XPSPort port is for printing to an XML Paper Specification file. See the section
“Printing to an XPS File,” later in this article.

4.Click the Next button. The wizard displays the Install the Printer Driver screen.

    5. To use a driver that Windows
includes, select the printer’s manufacturer in the Manufacturer list
box, select the printer model in the Printers list box, and then go to
step 7. If your printer doesn’t appear in the Printers list box and
your computer is connected to the Internet, click the Windows Update
button to check the Windows Update site for a driver.

    6. To provide a driver that you have for example, on a CD or a floppy disc, follow these steps:

    • Click the Have Disk button. The wizard displays the Install from Disk dialog box, as shown here.

    • In the Copy Manufacturer’s Files From text box, enter the path and
filename of the driver file. You can type in this information, but
usually it’s easier to click the Browse button and use the resulting
Locate File dialog box a common Open dialog box to select the file, and
then click the Open button. The wizard closes the Locate File dialog
box and enters the path and filename in the text box in the Install
    from Disk dialog box.

    • Click the OK button. The wizard closes the Install from Disk dialog box and displays the
Install the Printer Driver screen, which lists the printer for which the driver is designed.

    7. Click the Next button. The wizard displays the Type a Printer Name screen .

8.In the Printer Name text box, adjust the default name that the wizard suggests for the printer.
Keep the name relatively short, because some programs have problems with printer names
that are longer than 31 characters. If you share this printer with other computers, those 31
characters must include your computer’s name.

    9. Select the Set As the Default Printer check box if you want to use this printer as your computer’s default printer.

    10. Click the Next button. The wizard installs the printer driver, and then displays a
screen telling you that you’ve successfully added the printer.

    11. If you want to print a test
page on the printer to make sure the printer driver is working, click
the Print a Test Page button. The wizard sends a test page to the
printer and displays a dialog box such as the one shown here. Click the
Close button if the page prints correctly; if it doesn’t, click the
Troubleshoot Printer Problems link, and then follow through the
    troubleshooter that the wizard displays.

    12. After printing a test page, or if you decide not to, click the Finish button. The Add Printer
Wizard closes, and the printer you added appears in the Printers window.

Let me know if this fixes it.

OPPS! accidentally posted this solution (long) for the wrong printer!

Ha! Yours is just TOO OLD! Junk It and buy another one. Sorry for posting that long solution above -- by mistake. However save it -- it's how you install a printer MANUALLY if Windows fails to install it.

BJC55 Printer not printing

There are some possibilities due to the above phenomena. Let's discuss about it:
1) If the POWER light is flashing green, then your printer is now warming up or performing maintenance procedure (replacing cartridge/tank) or cleaning print head, just wait a few seconds till the light stop flash. Also if the last page of a print job not done, this POWER light flashing green.
2) If the CHARGE/ERROR light is flashing orange with beep 3 times, it mean your cartridge need to be install (especially the 1st time turn on printer) or cartridge being replaced, just install the cartridge and press RESUME to continue.
3) If both POWER light is flashing green and CHARGE/ERROR light is flashing orange with beep 3 times, then your printer may facing a very serious error and maybe need a replacement.

Hope these help.

PROBLEM COPYING WITH MY ALL- IN- ONE

This message is inbuilt into most Canon printers, there is spongy thing in the printer which when fills up fires the message (it's mostly a counter in the printer, which can be reset more later...), per Canon this can only be dealt with in a lab but some of the more adventurous have tried cleaning it by themselves. Note that in a lab they won't clean it, it's a part that needs replacing and it might cost around $60. In most Canon printers there is a reset procedure that can reset the error and allow you to print some more before handling it again. Following are the reset procedures for some of the Printers: (not that F60 isn't listed here) Canon GENERIC "S" SERIES RESET CODE Waste Ink Counter Reset. (1) Turn off the printer. (2) Press and hold the RESUME button, then press and hold the POWER button. (3) Release the RESUME button, Next press and release the RESUME button two(2) more times in succession. Note: you are still holding the POWER button). The printer's carriage will "reset" or move momentarily. If the above was properly performed the printer will enter the "Service Mode". (4) Press the RESUME button 4 times, this will select the clear waste ink counter function. The lamp will alternate (change) color with each key press. 1. Service/Factory test printout, including ink sensor check. 2. EEPROM - Info printout. 3. EEPROM - Initialization. 4. Reset the Waste ink counter. 5. Printer model setting. (More selections beyond this point - However it is best leave them unaltered - You have been warned!) After selecting the desired mode (eg 4), press the POWER button to "set" the change, and return to the top of the function selection menu.
