Screen is totally blacked out but the sound works.

Could be the power supply, it could be the main board. My advice regarding home television repair, unless our Television Expert Larry comes along.

Try to play around with the cables as you might have not inserted all the cable properly .

is this happened either watching a tv channel or even watching dvd movies?. and then does the display only white screen or a totally black screen?.

does the light stay or blinking and how about the screen display totally black or a white screen. you can see in a dark room if their is a white screen. if totally black screen then with sound the cause is could be bad inverter board or screen back light. if a white screen it was the t-con board not working good.

you will probably need to buy new av jacks for it

what is the brand, model? try to be specific if you want be helped!!!

i think there may be inverter problem.

throw it out
